Zhankosh Turarov vs. Mauro Maximiliano Godoy & Nordine Oubaali vs. Arthur Villanueva RBR

Oubaali going on some nice raids in the first. Villaneuva seems reluctant to open up, and understandably so.

 

Round 1

Oubaali controlling the action with the quick southpaw jab, and driving Villanueva into the corners with sharp 1-2s. Villanueva hanging in there, getting a bead on Oubaali's whereabouts by pawing out with the left jab, then swatting at him with a big hook as Oubaali dances outside.

Oubaali is in a completely different level to Villanueva IMO. The Filipino showed against Tete that he's not got the ambition to try and turn things around. Oubaali gonna be in control and not get tested. AV's been in some crap

 

Yeah, they should not pan out too much there, the arena is freaking empty.

Round 2

Oubaali splitting his focus between head & body. Nice limp-wrist doubled- and tripled-up right hooks climbing & descending an invisible ladder from the Pinoy's left ear to his throat. Villanueva is checking most of the right jabs from Oubaali with his left, but can't time any of his counters well enough to not get dodged & counter-countered. Oubaali consistently attacking first and connecting last in exchanges.

Fair, but Arthur is still a solid B+ dude at world level. I don't think anybody is holding their breath for the upset here, no, but if Oubaali truly dominates him and/or knocks him out I think it would be a creditable statement victory.

Villanueva has no idea what to do besides cover up and wait for openings. Openings that he doesn't know how to take advantage of. It's a really disheartening feeling. Same with when Villanueva tries to create openings; ends up getting punished instead.
Would not want to be him at the moment.

B+ is being polite IMO. He has done nothing of note at Bantamweight...must be AT best, #5 in the Philippines (Donaire, Casimero, Gaballo, Dasmarinas). He was a DECENT B+ type Super Flyweight but...at Bantam...mmmm

Oubaali I think very highly of, and he should be in the mix with Nery, Inoue, Donaire, Tete

...now watch as he gets a headbutt special KO like he did in the first Jimenez fight lol
