Zhang clearly beat Hrgovic, that was boxing politics. Parker was closer, probably lost that one to Parker fair and square. Getting koed was also a loss unfortunately. This should be a thread about Loma who truly was ****ed by boxing politics.
I am proud CCP fanboy. But it is what it is. Zhang is verified choke artist hes not Mao Zedong hes a neo Curtis Sheppard.
The evidence suggests he would have always been like this. At least at the top level. If you land the kill shot in every single one of your big fights and are sub .500 its hard to challk that up to age. Hes executing his gameplan and hes still losing.
Up to a point, yes. The only question is whether he'd have had any better stamina as a younger man... If he was a 50/50 fighter with a 6 round gas tank, if he'd had a 9 round tank would he have gotten closer to 75/25? Hard to say!
I know this is a daft thread but I actually had Hrgovic beating Zhang. It was a case of Zhang having bigger rounds but he lost more rounds overall. 1 Zhang 10-8 2 Hrgovic 3 Zhang 4 Zhang Close 5 Hrgovic Close round. 6 Zhang big round for Zhang. 7 Hrgovic 8 Hrgovic Good round for Hrgovic. 9 Zhang comes back well and steals the round. 10 Hrgovic 11 Hrgovic 12 Hrgovic 114-113 Hrgovic
I'm not sure if its gas tank as much as relying on his power to win fights for him. Which only became a problem once he reached the top level and isn't something he would have reason to change up earlier because it didn't cost him wins. Maybe hes pacing himself and picking his spots. Its not like he has specific mileage where Zhang fights well for that mileage and then he runs of gas once he goes further then that sort of situation. If he has a gas tank limitation thats making him fight that way we're not seeing it because he doesn't keep his foot on the gas till its out hes hitting the pedal on and off.
Even though Parker was knocked down twice, I thought Parker definitely won. I don't tend to rewatch fights back and score them, so my memory of the Hrgovic fight might be slightly faded, but it felt a lot closer than the Parker one.
Never scored Hrgovic-Zhang for the latter, and I consider the knockdown a rabbit punch pull down that gave Zhang a 10-8 round that he would otherwise lose.
