Zhilei Zhang needs to retire now

He could still have a few good fights left. Kabayel presented an awful style matchup for him.

 

Zhang-Ajagba, or Zhang-Bakole are still bangers. His chin and handspeed are legit, but the body shots are pure poison, especially in bunches.

 

Not sure who has worse stamina Price or Zhang you’d think a professional fighter would try and work on his cardio as that is his main clear weakness

Zhang has rode the wave of the Joyce wins to its natural conclusion. Was fun watching hom obliterate Wilder.

If Bakole wins or losses against Parker he has 0 reason to fight Zhang and that’s been Zhang’s problem for ages. It’d be a great fight though but I think if this goes well for MB the next guy to go after is DDD that’s winnable, Usyk I don’t think will give Martin a chance any other way and that’s a fight I really want to see before Usyk leaves the stage… that AND Kab depending on his success, If he pulls a Jeffries and retires with “no conquests on the horizon” it’d be legendary… maybe Hgrovic will get some momentum in the mean time and catch an ember.

When I saw that fight on the dance card I was dumbfounded… I knew Zhang would melt Wilder, I think EVERYBODY did that fight shouldn’t have been made his management fumbled bad he should’ve tried IDK DDD? Someone who comes right at you… not the Godzilla sized Southpaw with more artillery… and JP why? the counter puncher with a mandible like that? with all that seasoning and EXP against multiple champs of course he’d be schooled.

 

Why ? If Chisora is still fighting, why not him who can actually hit hard to be active for 5-6 rounds ?

 

He just announced that he's not retiring. And I'm glad because there's still lots of fun matchups for him. I.e. Chisora, Parker/Bakole loser, AJ...

 

Don't think he should retire.
He got an efficient style and can fight for 2-3 more for sure

Give him Adeleye and then let him fight Miller lol

 

He will never be champion, but that doesn't mean he should retire. There's still plenty of good matchups for him and he can still make good money. But he needs to get himself in better shape.

 

Against most of the other contenders, Zhang will be a life and death battle, and he would beat most still. Not everyone takes a shot as well as Kabayel. I say match Zhang with Bakole, a true crossroads fight. Everyone would still want to see that.

 

Granit chin with a flab for a body. Don't know why know one else worked his flabs.

 

Yeah, he's used to doing the bullying. Those body shots definitely killed what little stamina he had.
