Zhilei Zhang to fight Agit Kabayel for WBC Interim Title, Joshua eligible to fight Winner.

Time is running out for Zhang, but I am looking forward to this fight.

 

I don't see Zhang, with his asthmatic gas tank, getting past Kabayel. Joshua-Kabayel would be a great fight, however I don't think Joshua will respond well to Kabayel's bodywork.

 

Like always, Zhang is super dangerous in the first 6 rounds. Kabayel likes to come forward, but if he's smart, he better box until Zhang gasses, otherwise 1 shot from Zhang will send him into dreamland.

 

AJ doesn't deserve to fight the winner. As for the fight, if Zhang doesn't knock Kabayel out in the first 5 rounds, he'll lose.

His name will always afford him special privileges it seems.

 

I pick Zhang by early stoppage. I'm not sure if Kabayel has the power to keep Zhang honest, and trying to walk Zhang down is a terrible idea.

 

He can box going backwards didn't you see him vs Makhmudov ?

 

I think Zhang KO's Kabayel early by walking him into something big. Kabayel looks quite open to being countered and that's bad news against Zhang.

Yes Kabayel could make Zhang gas with body shots, but to do that he'll have to get into range and I don't see that going well for him.

 

Kabayel deserves to fight for a title. This shouldn't be for a title it'll be HWs 3rd most valuable belt but I understand Kabayel not wanting to fight for anything but a belt. This guys been a regional champ for nearly a decade and hasn't lost.

 

I'd have to rewatch the fight, but didn't he end up smothering him on the ropes?

I'd also rate Zhang's chin and boxing ability well above what Kabayel has faced so far. My only concern is Zhang's gas tank.

 

AJ is a bum club fighter

 

Why would AJ be in line to fight the winner? Guy's blown his shot and should be at least 2 fights away from another one. Winner of this deserves a shot at Dubois, assuming that Dubois' fighting Parker next, who's most deserving.
