Zhilei Zhang vs Joe Joyce II - September 23, 2023

Joyce doesn't know how to block a straight left. Zhang rearranges his face again.

 

I hope the winner of this faces Usyk.

I really don't want to have to see Hrgovic get slapped around by Usyk

 

His face is his defense.

 

I don't know what changes Joyce could realistically make in 2 months at age 37 that would make enough difference to overturn what was, last time, a brutal beating.

Jab and run is probably his best bet, but he's so ****in slow.

Very bad matchup for Joe. In first fight ppl did not appreciate Zhang performance in Hrgovic fight (even he lost by a little) where he show big punching power and very strong chin. Many thinking that Hrgovic was poor but that was not true.
Joe is slower than Zhang (hand speed), got less 1 punch power, and he got no defence. He is not stronger too. Only advantage he have is stamina but to use it he must survive first half of fight with good health what will be very hard with his appetite to eat all punches. Zhang 1 punch power can be one of the best today in division.
I see not chance for Joyce to find his spot to look better.
In his age he will not have better deffence (and if he try to hard to not get hit he will loose on points and give Zhang stamina comfort for whole fight)
He cant punch harder.
He will not be quicker.
Probably he can be less sure about his chin because he was wobbled hard in second round of first fight.
For me this fight can end his story in top of division.

 

Always told that Zhang is the hardest puncher (behind Wilder) in the heavyweight division and he will show it again in the rematch. Easy repeat.

 

Zhang stops him again.

Joyce isn't going to suddenly learn head movement and slick defensive skills at 37.
Zhang is very tricky with his punch selection and placement, has good timing and distance management in addition to his big left hand.

 

Zhang is one of the worst matchups for Joyce in the entire divison. I still believe Joyce is gonna win though. He'll survive the first half of the fight this time and knock a tired Zhang out late on (will take a lot of punishment in the process though). War Juggernaut

Joyce's chance relies solely on getting Zhang´s gas tank emptied before Zhang can do any fight-ending damage on him. If he goes in there trying to take out Zhang early then it's the same outcome as in the first fight.

 

I think this fight could be career ending for Joyce as another KO might permanently dent his chin. It's too bad because I think he can beat 5 or so top 10 guys, just not Zhang.

 

I think ppl oversize Zhang stamina problem. He go 12 rounds with Hrgovic who throw 700+ punches.
No one with poor stamina cant survive 12 rounds like that.

Off course Zhang style is very "economical" and he got whole rounds when he rest and not being active but he still throw sharp punches then and he is far away from lost fight before last bell.
Joyce can be active, got great engine but his tactic dont work good on Zhang. He will be not heart by this close punches where force go only from hands and he always will be do more damage by his sharp, quick hands.
No idea how he can use better stamina to win this when he must do twice work what opponent and he take much more damage on fight.

 

I think this will be a closer fight with Joyce boxing more early on. I still think Zhang has the advantage in speed and power and will eventually catch up to Joyce and stop him.
But I could also see Joyce stopping Zhang, but feel that is more unlikely.

 

sadly you know Joshua will win if it goes to the cards, no matter what happens in the fight.
