Gutted for Joe but this seemed to go as most of us expected. That'll be him done at the top level now I reckon as I think some of the top fighters might still avoid him.

Big respect for taking on such a big challenge and giving us two big HW fights this year.

 

Technically he didn't go to Russia. He got as far as doing some training in the UK, and was on a plane back to the U.S. before the fight was officially called off.
He also fought PED users Stiverne and Ortiz, twice.
So, let's not give him false valor for that one.

I know this is a heavily pro-Queensberry board (even banning "the Matchroom shills"), but being Joyce is a British fighter, even you lot must admit this is a bit snaky by Warren in the interview.

I feel like Warren is just a cold man. He won't show any care to any fighter if they're of no value. Eddie Hearn makes it look like he cares though by using the "I'm one of the lads, I get it, my old man doesn't get it" card. When in reality, he is just out for one thing. Like everyone else to be fair. Money.

To hold the belt for 5 years and his run of defences being Szpillka, Arreola, Washington, Duhaupas, Molina, Ortiz, Breazeale and a controversial draw with Fury is pathetic.

And I guess everyone in the division was still ducking him when he fought Helenius in his last fight as well?

At least he was an active champion though I guess.

Yeah same here. Wilder was an absolute joke of a champion and the most overrated fighter in the sport.

 

2 fights ago brick top had Joyce destroying AJ

now he has him retiring , it is a disgrace from him

 

Uncle Frank disposing of him like a used tissue. He never forgave Joyce for introducing his New AJ to quitting, that fight sent him half way to becoming Francesca

 

Why was the arena so empty for such a good main event? I don't like to criticise promoters too much but the undercard was one of the worst I've ever watched on the live broadcast. You had Barney-Smith in a 6-rounder against a journeyman which shouldn't have been on TV, Yarde against a super-middleweight which was somehow chief-support, and Moses Itauma against a cruiserweight. O'Leary vs Gardner should have been higher up on the card and Taylor vs Mcyntre should have been on the live broadcast.
