With inflation has there been an increase in ticket prices too? The Matchroom show at the same venue next week will do even worse since it was only announced recently and casuals won't be interested in the main event. God knows how Catterall vs Linares did so many tickets in Liverpool.

No I don't. It's just because I give Matchroom more praise than most posters here which causes you to think that.

 

Yeah mate. I’ve been to plenty of Brook fights at Sheffield Arena and the tickets for Wood v Warrington are a lot more.

 

The Yarde fight was absolutely horrific. Pointless to be honest.

As for Joyce v Zhang... I really thought with the extra weight and hearing of the poor camp that Joyce would come out with a different verdict this time around but it was evident from round 2 it wasn't going to end well again.

Joyce as we all know starts very slow but his engine and durability see's him take everything coming his way whilst he slowly break opponents down.

I thought this time around, whilst he would still get caught and be behind early especially as Zhang is so sharp early on, that he would reach the 2nd half of the fight and start making his mark. Especially as I don't think Zhang has the best engine...

Zhang once again couldn't miss and he caught Joyce with a beauty of a shot in the 2nd round that hurt him which led him into winning the fight in round 3 with a cracking shot.

I don't think Joyce's chin has suddenly left him, I genuinely just think he came up against his kryptonite opponent in Zhang... a sharp, quick, powerful and accurate southpaw that starts fast.

He genuinely didn't see the shot which knocked him out and they are the shots that do the big damage.

 

Agree that’s really poor on his part and the bad side of the game. Should we be surprised though, he has had a dodgy reputation with boxers for years and clearly was never fully invested in Joyce unlike his beloved Daniel Dubious.

This sounds like something someone on here would say. Dev Sahni is definitely on this forum which is nice.

But I do agree with Hearn to be honest. Zhang isn't a top 4 heavyweight. He is either 5th or 6th if people are ranking fairly. For me he is 6th as he lost to Hrgovic. I had it 114-113 Zhang but it could have been the other way.

People actually forget but Matchroom released Zhang from his contract so he could fight Joyce on a Queensberry show. In hindsight that was a great move from Matchroom.

Usyk will have to face Hrgovic and Zhang consecutively now very quickly. There's a possibility he could lose to either fighter. I'm a big fan of Hrgovic and I think he has the better chance of winning. It's a shame that Fury isn't fighting these top contenders unlike Usyk.

 

Usyk dances round Zhang for fun. Not a chance he loses.

 

Zhang beating Joyce doesn’t make him a top 4 heavyweight.

the hype Joyce got from the UK public and the boxing experts on these shores was shambolic.

Joyce only had 1 way of fighting and that was like Homer Simpson it was comical.

Anyone who thought or tipped him to beat AJ should never be allowed to talk boxing again.
