This would have been nothing short of fireworks between these 2 had they fought. How does Zhang handle David Tua at his best?

Zhang would batter him and stop him in the late rounds…

Tua fought two Southpaws in Moorer, Byrd, who he went 1-1 with, but neither fighter is really comparable to Zhang.

We know Zhang is good puncher with decent skills good chin but suspect stamina.

Tua was a bit limited skill wise but had KO power at anytime in the fight and a rock solid chin.

I haven't seen enough of Zhang yet in all honestly, but I think he would give Tua serious problems.

The question is though is how much respect Zhang would get from Tua with his power, and when Zhang starts to tire how vulnerable would he be to Tua's power ? Because Tua is a rare breed of puncher who can KO you in round 1 or 12.

Tua was never stopped once, I'm not even sure he was floored. I could actually see this being a bit of a boring fight with Zhangs superior boxing skills combined with his good chin getting him the decision.

I think Tua is outboxed for like 9 rounds and then catches Zhang late as he tires and stops him.

Good call. I think Tua was 17 there but still impressive by Savon. Man I would have liked to see him as a pro.

Tua did seem to struggle with the taller fighters he faced.

    I'll take Zhang by decision.

Tua is too short, against the big guys he was hesitant to throw. ZHANG UD.

    Right now I'd pick Tua.

Zhang is much bigger but he's not much of a mover, in fact he's a plodder and he doesn't have much of a jab. I don't think he can keep Tua off him based off of what I've seen of him. Zhang isn't a clincher from what I've seen, so he has a fighter he can't keep off him who he won't clinch against and who he can't match in close.

Plus prime Tua could fight for 12 hard rounds at a high pace as we saw vs Ike and we know Zhang's stamina is suspect. Tua likely stops him late. Only hope Zhang has is if he can hurt Tua or stop him, but Tua had a hell of a chin and unlike Joyce could move his head off the line, so wouldn't be as easy to hit.

Zhang isn't exactly proven, he at best drew vs Hrgovic who isn't great.

He battered Joyce who was illprepared. I suppose it depends how good of awin you consider Joyce.

    Is TUA better than Hrgovic?

There is no conceivable way that Zhang is stopping David Tua (prime or post prime).

    Zhang likely by lopsided UD

What the hell has Tua being Samoan got anything to do with him getting attention ? what a silly post. How many popular Samoan boxers have there been in history that were popular ? name one apart from Tua ?

Tua become popular because he was an exciting KO artist Tua being Samoan had naff all to do with it.

If anything Zhang has been getting rated very high for just 1 win over Joyce who was untested himself. I think your forgetting not along ago Zhang had a draw against a nobody "Jerry Forrest".

Yes Zhang has shown some qualities vs Hrgovic, Joyce, but remember both of these boxers only had 14 and 15 fights and are just novices in professional ranks.
