" Tete, a former IBF super-flyweight champion, demolished Mexican Diuhl Olguin in the eighth round of what was scheduled as a ten-round bout at the Orient Theatre. ... Olguin seemed to be in awe of Tetes blistering hand speed, balance and focus after the first round of the main bout and the South Africans punching power was evident as he drove his opponent towards the ropes in the second. The Mexican, who had never been stopped, was knocked down twice in the third round as Tete put together a performance that would have impressed connoisseurs anywhere in the world. The fight ended 1 minute 51 second into the eighth round when Olguins corner threw in the towel (which landed on Tetes head) before referee Andile Matika could stop the demolition. Tete improved his professional record to 23-3, with 17 knockouts. Olguin left the ring with a record of 11-4, with one draw and nine wins inside the distance." Why did Tete get stripped? :huh He's clearly still in the super flyweight division, so it wasn't like he moved up...and not enough time passed after he dethroned Butler for him to have missed a mandatory deadline or anything. Or did he vacate willingly?
Excited to see what's next for Tete- he's a heck of a fighter! I hadn't scouted him before the Butler fight, but he made a believer out of me. Anyone see the Sosa fight? It looks like it could be home cooking judging by Boxrec, but you never know.
He got stripped due to refusing to face Villanueva for peanuts (he had a horrible contract that would have left hm with next to nothing) RE Kino****a-he recently looked like **** against Cyborg Nawatedani, absolute robbery.
