Zolani Tete scores fastest KO ever in a world title fight

Naidjala was a pretty good scalp to take for someone in his only his eleventh bout. Former title challenger and a decent enough fringe contender. Gonya defeated him in the latter's backyard.

Don't get me wrong...he wasn't ready for Tete in any way, shape, or form. But his previous fight indicates that he wasn't completely devoid of ability, either. Dude just got caught cold by someone who is a lethal puncher at the weight- and the reason why that happened I think had less to do with Gonya and much more to do with how good Tete is right now.

Last Born is locked in, and I'd favor him over anyone at bantam right now.

No kidding, that's one super-fragile mandible. If he was anybody decent, I'd say put him at the top of the glass jaw list.

 

Two bad decisions fighting in the opponents back yard. He dropped the Argentinean with a body shot, and they didn't even count it. Mthlane stopped him though, probably a bit premature, but he was young and green then, also fighting at 112, how a 5'9 guy makes 112 is beyond me. Mthlane is no joke either, he's still around. Recall his fight with Donaire where he started touching Donaire up before being stopped on cuts in the sixth.

 

Tete is an animal, Ryan Burnetts got his worked cut out when they unify. Still fancy Burnett tho, him and booth will have a gameplan. Burnett likes too go too war though and going to war with Tete is a big NOPE

 

Well, at least Byrd could not rob him of a decision!

Directly after it happened I expected it to be a titlefight record, so that also was my first reaction in the RbR. Damn, that was fast!

 

ZT is a brutal puncher.
