This news has just broke. its been in the pipeline a couple of month and the deal is now done. I for 1 will look fwd to seeing more of tete on BN he completely dismantled butler whos a good fighter himself. Tete spoke of a couple more fights at sfw b4 moving up to bw. This guy is a class act and it may draw an african audience into BN.
Good fighter, though Butler made him look great but don't see what value this offers BN or Frank, as said he won't sell a ticket or add many subscribers I would have thought.
Feels a bit like that signing of Mbaye because he was WBA champion. Ultimately pointless Im sure he will be on peanuts which would be more than he is getting currently
Exactly.. Everyones a winner. Tetes getting paid more than he currently does, we as BN subscribers get to watch a world class talent and franks got a top fighter. Plus theres the possibility that tete might pull in the african viewers.
I was thinking that. Build up his profile here, before sanctioning a rematch with Butler. Given how dominant Tete was against Butler -- and taking into account the conclusive finish -- wouldn't a Tete vs Butler rematch be something of a hard sell?
It's an impossible sell as wazza just doesn't have the platform to build fights up to a decent level, 3,500 for the lee Saunders fight being a perfect example of this which is around half of a pish poor matchroom card At best he will be a quality undercard fighter for the most part at a good price, as for the African market that means sod all, if he was on low money over there it's probably because he has next to no commercial appeal despite his obvious talent
