    Round 5

Gabutan is still having a field day with that left hand lead. He is yet to come up with a solution for Gabutan just waltzing up, cracking him with the left, then digging a right hook on the body. He is forced to relent, giving up ground, popping a jab and scrambling for cover, the shoulder roll not helping out much in the face of intense nonstop swarming pressure from Gabutan. Time out, checking tape on the glove of Gabutan. Time in. Gabutan is spearing the body with lefts, then pawing his right jab at the face to harry He into the ropes. Light counter flurries by He, unable to plant his feet for more than a moment to set himself and throw anything of consequence. Gabutan turns orthodox for a moment and throws a woodpecker left jab up close, then steps outside, lefty again, creating distance to hurl long bombs with the left.

    10-9 Gabutan

    48-47 Gabutan

    Round 6

Gabutan is caught by a 1-2 from He, taking initiative early. Gabutan is surprised and hurt, apparently, driven into the ropes under fire. He is unloading with right hands, over and over, chasing Gabutan into the opposite set of ropes. Gabutan down, slip. Gabutan is squatting very low and jabbing the body from outside. Gabutan's mouthpiece is dangling out, barely held in place between his teeth. Ref calls time, more loose tape on Gabutan's glove. Time in. Gabutan is flurried into the ropes again. BIG 1-1-2 by He, hurting Gabutan. Right hand downstairs by He. Fast light flurries by He, occasionally putting a little starch on a right hand and knocking Gabutan's head back. He rolls to his right to take the edge off a Gabutan right hook and simultaneous swats him with a left hook. He jumps in, blocking a left hand on the high guard, and chases Gabutan into the ropes with a series of hard rights. Gabutan in trouble. Saved by the bell.

    10-9 He

    57-57

edit: never mind, the last few rounds were 8-10, not 4-6. On the secondary feed they picked up apparently ~15 minutes past where the previous one left off, meaning the entire middle section of the fight (rounds 4, 5, 6, & 7) couldn't & can't be viewed, live or on replay respectively. :ohno

So yeah, of the ones I saw, He won two of the first three and Gabutan won two of the last three. :nusenuse:

Well the 9-1 card is clearly wrong, otherwise hard to say if the remaining judges' cards were fair given that we're missing such a large swath of the action.

Well, you were dead wrong about that one, IB. :sisi1

Tejones got screwed twice over; he was clearly the better man than Yiran today. Gabutan meanwhile had some moments of success but it was clear He was a thousandfold more skilled, just maybe lacking in fighting heart and creativity at times, with the intangibles making it closer than it probably should've been considering that when he wanted to He was boxing literal circles around Gabutan.

Official cards for Yiran vs. Tejones, btw:

    Rui Ma 70-63
    Yin Hong Xue 69-64
    Kai Liu 69-64

    ...all for Yiran.

Are you fucking kidding me, WBC??? How do you approve three Chinese judges in sketchy-ass unregulated no-man's-land China for a contest with a title of yours (even a relatively minor and unimportant Youth version) on the line? That decision they rendered is downright criminal. Yiran lost about 4 of the 7 pretty damn clearly, yet the array is a shutout and two cards a point shy of it? BULL****.

@CST80 @PinoyProdigy @Drew101 ...I'm going to need you guys to come in and score this one to corroborate, tell me I'm not crazy, this was an INSANE robbery, made all the worse by the circumstances, they blatantly ended the contest on a cut that didn't warrant halting it just to bail out Yiran knowing Tejones didn't have a prayer of getting a fair shake on points. (which I realize now was already clear by the 5th when they announced WBC open scoring, didn't realize that on the first watch since they read the scores in Chinese)

51:19 - The scumbag ref even glances at Yiran when he first makes the determination to stop the contest, not quite going as far as outright winking but making eye contact with a little knowing glance and subtly putting up both hands palm-out in a "don't worry, it'll be fine..." gesture, such blatant crap.

Hate it when good fighters get f__ked over by blatantly partial home judges.

I don't understand how Tejones wasn't FURIOUS, unless he just doesn't speak Chinese or English (the announcer read the scores aloud in both) and just didn't comprehend that all three judges gave him either one round or zero. Maybe he thought he lost a close technical decision and was sportsmanlike enough to shrug it off without making a fuss, but to be told you got shut out after dominating most of the fight like that, wtf?!

Did you see my quasi-RBR? That was a fun battle, especially the way it ended. Naito was probably wishing the OPBF title was contested over ten and not twelve. :sisi1
