Back to back weekday mornings/afternoons chockablock with Russian боксом.

Except today's card isn't as deep ..but otoh should feature a great deal fewer nationalistic fanatically jihadist indoctrinates, being in relatively saner climes. :sisi1

Not too many showcase mismatches, either, for a RCC Promotions card. Lots of prospect vs. prospect with both zeroes on the line...and some degree of parity on paper in the matchmaking from the main event on down. Yuri Kashinsky for instance begins his comeback trail from being stopped in a round by Michał Cieślak earlier this year with Stars Kutin, a powerful Ukrainian crossover from kickboxing.

Case in point, Vadim Tokarov, a well-heeled amateur now 4-0 in the pros, is getting a stern test from the Armenian journeyman, with lots of fiery exchanges, but he is getting the slight best of them and earning high marks overall.

Dilanyan finally goes down midway into the 8th and final round.

    edit: and stopped moments later.

He previously had only been stopped by Magomed Kurbanov in the 9th, and then by Sergey Lubkovich earlier but via injury.

Tokarov will be fun to watch but might not have much career longevity. Him versus Lemieux would be a hoot. :icon_popcorn:

Yuri Grigorievich Kashinsky vs. Stanislav Alexandrovich Kutin, 8 rounds @ bridgerweight*

(*this was scheduled at cruiser but Kashinsky missed weight by 1¼lb, so...not officially being called bridger, although it de facto is..)

Nice, tight chess-match opener...both are finding holes and scoring jabs and body shots, and both using feints to set up combinations and then making adjustments to not get hit by the same punches twice. Good stuff. :deal:

I've got them one apiece...Kashinsky had a few more crunching, hair-standing-on-end and beads-of-perspiration-spray-halo type shots in the 1st, and Kutin did in the second.

    19-19

Yuri has a bad cut. Lower corner of left eye.

Fight is getting very chippy - physical and rough on the inside with many uncalled fouls. (Kutin driving his forearm Heisman trophy style into Kashinsky's throat...and Kashinsky at one point drilling a right hand down into Kutin's buttock as he was turned around)

    We've got a dogfight, comrades.

Fairly sure a punch opened the cut but don't quote me (not 100% sure there haven't been any headbutts in close, but don't remember seeing a bad one)...and obviously I can't understand the commentary if they mentioned a ruling by the ref.

Could very well end up being a match ender. His corner didn't really get it very well under control between rounds.

Half the distance remaining and Kutin seems to be focused on ripping half of Kashinsky face off.

Question is, how is his gas tank?

First real stern warning I've heard from the ref... I think on Kashinsky for holding and rabbit punching. Naughtiness aside, though, his work ethic was supreme, let his fists go for the whole 5th and wrested some momentum back.

Nobody else watching? Bloody, sweaty, grueling bit of business, this.
