Zou Shiming Loses Sight in Left Eye

    Too bad they didn't know about the detached retina before hand, since they could've avoided putting his eye under any additional stress.

    Sugar Ray Leonard only had a semi detached retina and that almost ended his career back in the early 80's.

    Bad news. I was never a fan of Shiming but really there is no reason to dislike him or throw shade his way like many do. Are we supposed to expect fighters to turn down huge paydays and headlining events because they don't think they deserve it? That's silly. Hoping for the best for Shiming.

    However...

    Antonio "Cyborg" Margarito is not impressed. Neither is Sam Langford or Joe Frazier.

    Yeah, Langford is a classic story. When he was blind, in his 40's and 5-7, Jack Dempsey supposedly nixed making a title fight against him because he was "too tough."

    And Frazier supposedly developed his left hook because he couldn't see well out of his left eye and wanted to keep his opponents on his right.
