Zsolt Bogdán vs. Danny Williams & Ferenc Albert vs. Lajos Márk Nagy RBR

Ferenc is game here, and fighting the right game plan despite the deck being stacked in Nagy's favor, and could arguably be up 2-1 at this point. (or level at 1-1-1 for a 10-point must score of 29-29...)

 

Round 4

Albert is keeping the pressure on, intentionally losing his midsection jab as Nagy collapses over it, trapping it between his legs and lower body, then hammering Nagy behind the head with the right hand as they spoon (Albert the big spoon) and twirl in the center of the ring. Albert is keeping his noggin low and gloves high, responsibly avoiding Nagy's light sweeping deterrent shots and slamming into him repeatedly to roughly shove him back or land oblique shots on the side of the head with the right after sinking the low jab.

The height differential is pronounced enough, but Albert is wearing black trunks and has slightly more hair (and defined musculature in his chest and back), if that helps - while Nagy is the lanky boyish looking one sporting multicolored trunks.

 

Round 5

Albert is plunging jabs and rights into the chest and forcing Nagy to clinch. Albert is hooking the body and backing Nagy up into a nervous trot now. Nagy loops a few long punches with both hands, scoring around both eyes of Albert with either hand, marking them up. Albert has a bloody nose as well. Albert is bulling in just before the bell, wildly bombing away on the body and landing even as Nagy bounds in flight.

Round 6

Albert is ducking and rolling under Nagy's jab, looking to clap in wide shots on the narrow target of Nagy's faraway body. Nagy is using his legs, dancing away in a Philly shell. Nagy falls in with his right arm lain atop the head of Albert, then swishes a left hook limply across his chest to push his way free again, creating more distance than he previously had while making Albert reset his offense. Nagy is spoiling more than attacking here. Nagy works off the long jab, keeping his lead foot several inches away from Albert's while tucking up into a tight guard and turning when Albert comes at him, catching most of his body shot combos on the elbows. Uppercuts by Nagy leaning in.

Round 7

Quick glove touch as they walk out to answer the bell - just a sportsmanlike gesture, not wasting a lot of time, although both do seem to inhale deeply while they have the chance and may be using the ceremony for some mutually strategic if barely noticeable stalling. Albert is shooting jabs up high, skidding off Nagy's forehead or missing outright. Nagy is stepping back and landing his much lighter wet-noodle jab on the face. Albert hurts Nagy with an uppercut and rushes him into the ropes, missing wildly on a barrage of follow-ups. Nagy circles away in a jog, hands down. Nagy is falling in with cat-scratch right hands on the pinky side of Albert's gloves, holding onto him as his momentum beaches him. Long body shots by Nagy, picking away on the hips of Albert while dancing to his right and leaning back in between. Albert rushes in and lands a damaging uppercut on the gut. Nagy is landing more, Albert more hurtful blows, and both primarily downstairs.

Round 8

Albert is tanking in, gloves up at his ears. Lead rights on the body by Albert. Nagy keeps his left arm vertical at his side, then draws it up like a well-pail and taps out groupings of light jabs once he is circled out in the clear. Albert is bending forward under the jabs and firing inclined 1-2s from below at the bottom of Nagy's chin. Gum shield of Nagy out. Long straight flurry by Nagy backing up. Albert whips Nagy into the ropes with a left hook and follows up with some wild rights and more hooks, missing as Nagy ducks and swivels on a heel away from the ropes.

Round 9

Albert is trotting a few steps to his left, then running in with jabs up top and knifing rights straight out into Nagy's lungs. Nagy is retreating as needed to keep himself spaced apart, paddling Albert's forehead with light left jabs and placing point-scoring but barely felt right hands. Albert is clinched every time he jumps in with a 1-2, Nagy falling back against the ropes with Albert in his clutches. Albert snaps Nagy's head back with a single right hand, best punch of the round nearly two minutes in. Albert starts to work the body as he walks Nagy into the ropes but gets smothered, Nagy draping himself over him and pinning his arms, wrenching them out to center ring. Nagy is ducking the lead right now and bucking up into Albert with the back of his neck. Albert pushes down and Nagy hits his knees. Ruled a slip, correctly. Double hooks by Nagy, slapping the body and head. Now left upper-hooks as Albert just stands there and covers up.

10-9 Nagy, ate one big shot but overall far more active/accurate (despite all his stuff being pitter-patter)

Round 10

Albert is winging in hooks with both hands now, missing as Nagy turns with him and dives in to curl both arms over his back. Nagy is playing catch-and-release before the ref can intervene and quickly backing out, landing jabs and looping rights on the head while Albert stomps toward him. Nagy ties up constantly and slaps Albert's backside until the break. Albert is unable to reach Nagy with a left uppercut turned over after missing into a left hook, but grazes him with a leaping right. Nagy backs up, jabbing and flurrying, then falls in to clinch. Slapping hooks on the body by Nagy. Albert is backed off finally by a long wound-up fastball right hand over the top as Nagy takes an extra step back, widening his stance to add torque. Albert moves in, gloves at his ears. Nagy keeps pelting him with light hooks on the backs of the gloves while turning him. Albert comes in and eats a jab while pumping straight punches out past either side of Nagy's face.
