NO they will let him fight bums for the next 5 years and then when he gets to 25 defence and equals Joe Louis record they make a promotion based on him beating the record and that he is the greatest 175 fighter of all time. Universum will make a **** load.

I agree with your opinion but we're talking about Universum.
And I guess that Drews would have asked for ****loads of money against Erdei. He was supposed to fight Tito Mendoza (Erdei's last opponent) but he priced himself out. So the only way to make money with Drews was to "sell" the belt to Australia.

And that's exactly what they did. They sold the belt to Australia. It's funny because Green retired so the belt is vacant now. Don't expect Drews to get any more title shots after that non-showing.

I think the Germans will make Erdei-Brahmer. Brahmer has moved up to light heavy. This will be a big fight in Germany.

That is actually not a bad fight at all.

Nothing spectacular/legacy providing for Erdei, but at least Brahmer does not have one foot in the grave, like Erdei's last few opponents.

Erdei just repeatedly expressed clearly his view on Universum in the German press and he told that he is not satisfied and fed up with his own management.

He said he has no motivation to fight bums any more and wants unification immediately...

I think Glen Johnson would be now the best option to make a statement, Dawson just lost to Johnson, we all saw.

    Link?

    That is good to hear.

If its unification he wants, there is no point fighting Johnson. It will have to be either Dawson or Tarver. And I for one had Dawson winning his fight, as did the official judges.

Erdei is going to win but lets see Erdei next with any harder contender or unification with any champions.

There is rumour that Braehmer will soon get a shot at Yuri Barashian.

The article in which Erdei demanded unification from Kohl was published in the Sport Bild recently.

Erdei said he is very grateful to the Universum for all he receieved from them, but he is fed up with "bums" and that they could not set any unification.

Kohl answered today that the unification with Green could not happen as Green retired and in the USA no opponents were available.

Frankly, Erdei would mean for the American fighters huge risk without any $.

Dawson will have to face Diaconu now, Tarver has no reason to fight Erdei... the only remaining "name" in the division in Johnson. Huge test for the Hungarian.

Let's hope finally he gets his shot....

Some thoughts about yesterday's fight. I couldn't really pay attention to the fight as I had other things to do but from what I've seen this was a very dull performance of Zsolt. He did nothing spectacular: he schooled this bum for 12 rounds with minimum effort instead of taking him out in 5-6 rounds as he should have. No risk taking at all. What I've seen is a totally unmotivated Erdei doing just enough against a no-hoper.

I very much hope he gets a real opponent next time because even a loss would be better than these absolutely meaningless fights.

After critizing his promoter for not offering him a big opponent, (German TV channel) ZDF ceased to extoll his performance. In his last fights he was constantly praised for his "world class performances" against such dangerous opponents like Blades and Santiago. Yesterday he was critized for his performance against his "worst opponent" since his WBO reign. Quite funny because Abron is certainly not worse than the other two non-hopers.

Critize your opponent and you're a dead man walking. I guess this was Erdei's last live coverage on German TV.

    Erdei's American opponent was a joke,darien,and so was.........Erdei's performance.

Erdei's young compatriot Balszay would have shown a better performance against that limited club fighter from the USA on yesterday's fight event in Germany.

You're probably right mate. The difference between the two is that Balzsay is a young hot prospect/contender who wants to prove that he's worthy of a title fight. On the other hand Erdei is a champ or beltholder and the lineal LHW champion who wants bigger challenges but gets only bums like this guy. No wonder he has no motivation at all. I remember some of Calzaghe's earlier fights against nobodies where he looked like **** against no-name opponents. (Before someone yells at me: I'm not comparing Erdei and Clazaghe, just making a case for the lack of motivation issue).

On the other hand I don't think Universum is the only one to blame for the situation. Erdei should've made it clear long ago that he had bigger plans. The other problem is that he takes no risks at all. There's no killer instinct in him anymore: he jabs his way out of all his fights even if he could finish his opponents easily. He's become one of the most boring fighters of this era which is quite sad if you remember how exciting his style used to be. He was one of the best combination punchers now he throws 5 jabs per round with an occasional right cross in every 3 rounds. With a style like that noone's gonna pay to see him and a big matchup is a huge investment. Catch 22 I guess.

if only erdei had put full pressure on abron for 1 round around 2/3/4/5 just to see what he had, he would have quickly found out abron was hopeless and could have then sat down on his punches and got abron out of there.

instead erdei took a look/ then another look, and then yet another look.

not sure if he was impressed with the physique /size/ style of abron but it was clear in round 12 as soon as erdei let his hands go , just a little bit how poor and inadequate abron was.

i am sure abron will suffer a 2 or 3rd round ko loss if he is matched with anything in shorts and boxing gloves with a pulse next time out.

erdei is going about his protest the wrong way.

    first put bums on seats

    then give them a show

then money and bigger fights will come.
