lol the one i'm familiar with isn't on that list. plus thats probably only like 15% of the URL's out there. when you take them down more will pop up anyway.
i hate the excuse that if people watch streams the fighters get payed less, thats bull**** fighters are gonna fight regardless its up to the UFC to determine what they are worth. Boxing gets streamed just as much if not more and i dont see them going broke. if the UFC died tomorrow there would be another Org there to pick up the pieces. fighters will always have a place to fight and make money. plus many ex-pride fighters have voiced there displeasure with UFC's contract obligations and pay. **** why did Dan Henderson leave the UFC? why did Rampage want to go back to pride days and make movies? these are the actions of a fighter that is not pleased. This is why UFC loves the homegrown fighters, because they know no alternative. Overeem has even said he wouldnt jump at the idea of UFC because of there "slave contracts".
There is nothing the UFC can do to prevent illegal streams. Trying to sue guys like Google merely highlights their lack of foresight or even insight into the world of the internet. They can aggressively pursue to protect their IP rights as much as they want. But what they fail to realise is other organisations that have tried the same tactic have seen themselves marginalised out of existence. As for fighters loosing revenue thats just pure lies and doesnt even merit an explanation. Butalas its hardly out of the ordinary for the UFC's regular fiddle.
Thats a drop in the ocean. Even if they were all taken down tommorow like you say hundreds more would pop up in minutes. The UFC cant have it both ways. When their brand was nothing but a footnote for MA fans these same "pirate" streams was what helped to spread their brand. Now they actually think they can reign in the Internet and accuse Google by extension of trampling over their IP rights. Just smacks of the usual delusional attitude you see from Zuffa.
Standard business. Nearly every company that has copyrighted material tries to keep it from being given away. Other fight promotions do the same thing.
Correct. If a Corp. does not attempt, however fruitless,to protect their rights they soon shall have no business.
