[FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]Zuffa, LLC, (“Zuffa”), the parent company of the Ultimate Fighting Championship® (UFC®), announced today that it has served subpoenas on two streaming video websites, commanding them to reveal the identities of users who have uploaded video of live Pay-Per-View UFC events.
The websites, ******.tv and Ustream.tv, enable anyone with an Internet connection to broadcast live streaming video to an unlimited audience. Although originally developed to bring user-generated content to a large live audience, these sites have been exploited by some users to broadcast illegally uploaded content, including UFC events.
For example, on January 2, 2010, over 36,000 people watched a live streaming feed of the UFC 108 Pay-Per-View event that was uploaded from a single IP address. Less than two months later, on February 21, 2010, that same IP address was used to upload multiple live streaming feeds of the UFC 110 Pay-Per-View event, which was watched by over 78,000 non-paying users. This piracy represents a significant loss of revenue to UFC and their mobile, online, cable and satellite distribution partners each year.
“I can’t wait to go after the thieves that are stealing our content,” said UFC President Dana White. “This is a fight we will not lose.”

 Fair enough fight for your property rights. But his brand is only going to loose fans. This kind of reminds me of Don Kings bull**** some years back. Look where he is now. The guys just insignificant.

This reminds me of Metallica's fight against Napster - they lost a lot of fans because of it... but well it's Zuffa's right to go after it.

  3. Come on Dana wheres some of your strategically placed Shrills and trolls advertising your products free of charge on websites.............maybe Zuffa should be sued by forum and website owners.

This is what happens when you become too big for your boots. People seek alternatives. Personally i hope Zuffa are as bad as the MPAA and RIAA. If they want to be dogmatic let them. There brand will start to crumble as a result.

Yes, losing fans who don't pay for your product will be the downfall of any company......:huh

  8. Zuffa is a business looking out only for itself, Zuffa is not in it for the interest of the sport and would rather the masses not see its fights. The future is towards a free and inclusive sport where champions of other orgs can compete against each other.

Zuffa is bad for global MMA.

kind of like the alphabet soup in boxing right.....:-( Wlad vs Haye,Wlad vs Povetkin, Pac vs Floyd, Vitali-Valuev. Stuff like that makes me appreciate the UFC modo where guys don't get to cherrypick. The alphabet soup orgs don't even control their own org's it's the promoters Arum,DonKing, goldenBoy floyd etc. who control the orgs, even the tv networks have control of what fights get made.

Zuffa are a bunch of bitches. I understand the PPV's somewhat but these ****ers fight tooth and nail to keep every fight of the net for example im not going to probably find GSP vs Hughes II anywhere online because its probably going to banned everywhere but im going to need to buy the DVD and spend 20 bucks to go into there pockets. I have Directv and for like 8 months I could not watch the WEC so when id try to watch the FREE WEC events on stream sites Zuffa kept taking it off which is total BS.

What makes you feel so entitled that you deserve to watch someone else's copyrighted material anytime you want? Don't get me wrong I def do my fair share of pirating on the web but I am not about to criticize an organization for attempting to prevent the illegal distribution of their content. I have no right. Besides the internet is still rampant with Zuffa owned footage. If you can't find GSP/Hughes II then your not looking hard enough.

This might turn me against the UFC/Zuffa. You have a sport thats abit past its Apex
(2005-2007), your TUF shows are the biggest joke on TV. You have up and coming prospects you can count in one hand. Your one marquee HW is a lost away from bringing down interest in the whole division.

So yeah lets target illegal streams that gives people a venue to watch MMA.
This is the same people that runs Casinos by giving free bus trips and free buffets so that they would visit one of their Casinos:patsch

This is the problem when people inherits money. Theyre not self made people and therefore theyre really dumb people who got a lucky by having wealthy parents.

When you say the UFC's Apex was 2005-2007 you must remeber that is just your opinion not a fact. Especially when at that time most of the best fighters were in pride. I'm not sure it's reached it's apex yet. UFC 116 just did over a million ppv's and the next few cards look great as well.
