I hope this fight gets off the ground, Zuniga has gotten jobbed quite a bit recently with fighters dropping out of his bouts. I think he's pretty underrated.
Zuniga is very underrated...I wish him the best. He's a very skilled and exciting fighter to watch and has worked very hard for a legit shot at a title...I could easily see Zuniga beating Taylor, Froch, Bute or even Kessler.....He has one of the sweetest left hooks in the sport
The one-dimensional and predictable American based Zuniga is tailor made for the Russian counterboxer.Zuniga will be at the short end of the stick for most of the time and lose a wide point decision to Inkin. The young Hungarian shooting star Balzsay, who is one of the most promising new faces at supermiddle, would have been a much tougher fight for Inkin. Zuniga has a puncher's chance, but Inkin is head and shoulders over his limited foe in terms of speed, skills, and experience.
I've only seen a little bit of film on Inkin, but it looked to me like he likes to keep the pressure on. If that's the case, this could be a real good scrap for however long it lasts. Zuniga can't even spell "back foot." He will not back up. Win, lose, or draw, Inkin is gonna get his chin checked. At 160 and 168 Zuniga is one helluva gate keeper. Anyone who gets past him is probably the real deal.
Pavlik fans overrate the ****ing HELL out of zuniga just because he dropped pavlik and gave him a tough fight.
Honestly, I'm not sure how well Inkin handles pressure. He hasn't really had to up to this point, as far as I know. This analysis seems to assume that Zuniga will box rather than move forward. Considering he was always moving forward against much harder punchers in Pavlik and Oganov, I think that's a faulty analysis.
Odo's analysis was not just faulty. It was flat out delusional. Zuniga is a swarmer who likes to come forward at all cost, and throws fast and unpredictable shots around the guard. He has an intense work rate and great stamina. He will try to turn the fight into a war on the inside. And that's a fight I don't think Inkin can win. Inkin needs to try to keep it a tactical boxing match, but I do not think that is what comes natural to him, but like I said, I haven't seen much film of Inkin.
Ok well maybe not so much Kessler but it would still be a good fight and certainly worth more of a look than Hausler-Kessler:deal
No doubt Boo, infact I made a thread on the potential war that would be Zuniga-Andrade...I'll try and find it
There are tons of good fights that could be made at 168 right now. Pavlik/Calzaghe Taylor/Kessler Zuniga/Andrade Bute/Froch Dirrell/Ward Zuniga/Bika Those are just a few that come to mind immediately.
Zuniga has been training for months already and sparring with Bute, while Inkin has been inactive due to injury. I've never seen Inkin fight, but i gotta go with Zuniga based on resume and current circumstances.
Zuniga has fought the better competition and has a very good winning streak, don't know much about Inkin so Zuniga KO9
