Zuniga pulled out of his fight against Montreal fighter Sebastien Demers. The fight was set to take place on August 2nd.

Most people know Zuniga was supposed to fight Jean Pascal in June when PAscal pulled out, citing an injury. Pascal and Demers are both promoted by GYM, and GYM managed to get Zuniga a title eliminator in the MW division against Demers. But 1 week before the fight Zuniga pulled out, first claiming visa issues, but when GYM said they could provide him with a visa due to their connections, Zuniga claimed illness.

The fight was also supposed to headline this friday's ESPN friday night fights card. Demers has already fought on ESPN multiple times. Zuniga's replacement will be

That's a bummer. I was kinda looking forward to that fight. Zuninga usually makes for exciting fights. He can crack, and his chin isn't that great.

How can you say his chin isnt that great. He has never been KO'd and went 9 rounds with Pavlik hammering him until the fight was stopped by a cut. Bad judgement. I was at that fight and Pavlik was hitting him with everything and the Columbian kept coming.

Zuniga also hammered PAvlik in that fight. It was pretty much even or Pavlik only slightly ahead at the time of the stoppage.

Darn. Would've made for a good Abraham victim vs. Pavlik victim story, maybe indirectly helped fan the flame for that fight.

On the plus side, the replacement looks to be Dionisio Miranda, who's also an exciting fighter who can crack and be hurt. :nod

Based on the Quillin and Abraham fights, I'm going to say Demers by wide UD over Miranda.

I think I was confusing him with that other guy Berrio, you know the one that fought Bute.

Blood tests showed Zuniga with a viral infection of some sort. He was forbidden to travel, let alone fight. I have no idea why his team told the visa story. Perhaps they were trying to hide the fact that he was sick.

I'm very disappointed by this. This is the second time an IBF eliminator came apart on him. Zuniga just can't catch a break.

Man, Zuniga is lying. He's not the victim this time, he's the bum.
Since when a boxer hides an illness? So tell me, what is the reason for all that ****? Except for the weight? I'm open to everything, as long as your explanation does not show Zuniga as a victim.

i also think Zuniga simply can't make 160 anymore. Obviously he would've wanted the fight, but maybe his body has outgrown the weight

Boo you know how easy it is for a promoter get some bull**** doctor to say whatever you want him to say.
