Just watched the fight again and it looks like the official result should have been KO4.

Zuniga was down for 14 seconds. But the referee took his sweet time with the count.

I guess not only Montreal referee are biased. :D

My guess is they wanted to go as out of their way to be as fair as possible to battle the image they got after the last fight. I don't know how much of a favor it actually was to Zuniga to allow him to continue, though

It's not really that important is it?It's still a KO,even tough a TKO.
I was sorry for Zuniga anyway as he is a nice guy and a entertaining fighter.

Those announcers on SHO sucked, it was clearly a legal shot and they were talking low blow, although Bute was going a little low a couple times prior.

No smartman, Bute was up at the count of 8. Rewatch it.

To be fair it was the ref's 8, not a chronological 8.

Yes, a chronological 8. Rewatch it and count yourself.

He was up, just barely standing, exactly 11 seconds after he went down. Yeah, it was at count 8. But he was down for 11 seconds.

    A 10 count ain't 10 seconds.
Bute beat the count at least at 8.

If by up you mean hanging limply on the ropes like a corpse, then I'll give that to you.

But no one is talking about the counts. It's a thread about Zuniga being down for 14 seconds. I just added that Bute was down for 11. There are many famous long counts, Amir Khan, for example, was down for 15 seconds vs. Limond.
