Sucks that Ramirez is hurt. I think he made some major improvements in that last fight with Abraham. Surprised he is serious about that fight with GGG. I see that ended via a body shot stoppage on GGG's part. I wouldn't mind watching it though. And yea, Canelo is all about that $$ now.

  2. He is only expressing how 99% of Mexicans feel about their National adopted red headed step child feel about him.

It is more like 50% or less. Look at how many fools on this forum give a pass to Alvarez for avoiding Golovkin. They believe everything Oscar says :patsch

Most of those posters aren't Mexican, they just hate GGG for whatever reason.

  7. Most aren't Mexican giving Canelo a pass and most aren't Canelo fans. They are just bitter trolls.

Canelo is very serious about the GG fight. So serious that he’s gone out of his way to invite GG into the ring, say he has no problem fighting him at 160, and agreed to fight him numerous times. What more can the guy do?

He just didn’t like being dictated to and disrespected by the WBC having them give him timetables telling him he has to agree to said terms 2 weeks after the Khan fight.

He also isn’t a 160 lb fighter and has business at 154 and has been trying to make the fight with Smith for some time, and couldn’t make that fight while holding that MW title.

Ramirez saying Canelo makes Mexicans look bad comes off as bitter and anyone who agrees has some serious issues in regard to how they view Canelo. Most likely anyone who thinks Canelo has made Mexico look bad is either a GG fan or just doesn’t like Canelo for whatever reason.

The vast majority of Mexicans love Canelo and support him 100% and people all over the world are fans of Canelo. Canelo is the best thing to happen to boxing in a long time and his fights have been nothing short of spectacular. There’s always gonna be haters and haters gonna hate but what Canelo is doing for boxing should be respected by all boxing fans.

    :deal

Well said. People still love Canelo, and for good reasons. He is one of the few fighters who fights everyone. Him not fighting GGG when WBC wanted him too is not a duck if you consider his reputation of taking on everyone and the fact that he has said multiple times that he will fight GGG, but it will be on his terms and he's earned that right.

I guess Canelo could have faked an injury & simply passed on his first title defense aswell. Hmmmmm...

The irony. Canelo "fights everyone" but "him not fighting GGG ... is not a duck"! Yes, he's earned the right to be the a-side of the match-up, and therefore to have the fight on his terms, so long as they are reasonable. But he hasn't even sent GGG an offer at all!

I would have given Canelo a pass if he either sent a reasonable offer to GGG, or began to make his way up to 160 by taking someone semi-decent on at 156 lb +.

    He's done neither, so it's a duck.

When Alvarez leaves 154lbs after beating Smith to a pulp then the "He ducked 154lbs to go to the **** 160lbs" dudes will come out of the woodwork.

(And I'd partially agree with them... If the top 154lbs would fight each other and not be twins or stablemates, in comeback mode or ducking Lara.)

Already we can kinda hear the rumblings... of upset fighters talking loud but haven't themselves earned the right to speak Canelo's name yet.

    154lbs>160lbs all day everyday... Talent.
(But the top ain't gonna fight each other in risk of losing their opportunity for a Crack at big red)

    Canelo doesn't owe GGG chit.

Canelo can fight at 154 for the next 3 years cleaning out the division, and then move up to MW once he'd made all the money he can at SWW.

Then Eubanks, Saunders, and if Golovkin is still around can all get a nice little payday from Canelo.
