It’s within the rules, it’s the same for everyone so I don’t know why ppl making such a big deal about it, the fight doesn’t get easier just because you cut a lot of weight and know how to rehydrate, actually, the fight gets harder if you cut too much weight, trust me I been there.
29 lbs for LHW seems insane. I heard whispers about David Lenieux being able to puff up as much as 19 lbs as a MW circa 2015 and how it caused alot of concern. That amounts to a 11.9% BW gain. That 204 lb figure amounts to a 17.2% (!) BW gain. If true, it 100% reinforces the need for same-day weigh-ins.
Zurdo is kind of an emotional basket case. He's carrying around plenty of demons. Maybe they have a priest exorcise them for the weigh-in?
A disgrace to boxing, even more so to sportsmanship. He shouldn’t have been allowed to fight. This was as bad, if not worse, as Chavez weighing 182 or whatever against Andy Lee on fight night for a 160 lbs match.
I'm pretty sure Iran Barkley had that beat, I think he came in at 200+ for a LHW fight (someone verify that), I think Daniel Santos may have came in at the 180's for a JMW fight against Margarito. Definitely one of those two. Coming in at 204 is still insane though
