Jirov v.s Toney in 2003?

Why in the hell did the judges have the scores so lopsided for Toney? I can understand giving Toney the decision because of the low blow point deduction and knockdown, but **** like 117-109? COME ON! atsch

Jirov was the one constantly applying the pressure and threw more punches. Including some HEAVY body shots. With the point deduction I will agree Toney won ...but it was close. Those two should have rematched

The TS is absolutely right, something wasn't right with the judges. Toney won a clear but close decision that night, so the right guy won, but the judges were probably looking too much at the ring girls.


Great fight, tough. Jirov was a really good fighter and Toney's work in the pocket is always something to see.

Exactly :good Should have been a rematch between the two. Maybe a 116-114 score or something like that would have been a little more realistic.

Toney ate some good counters too. And was being pressured and attacked with strong body work and good shots to the head. And yeah today was the first time I watched this fight all the way through. when rounds are close its entirely possible for scores to be wide judge A could score the close rds one way and judge B another

this is why there is 3 of them

this is also why its a non issue
