James degale and george groves. Who needs who more?

    If degale is to win the european title in 10 days, which i think he will, Who would need/benifit from a rematch more him or groves?

    As far as im concerned Groves has beaten him once. If he beats him again where does that leave big mouth?

    the european does mean much more than the british. degale needs groves more.

    fair play to degale his opponent is not a step backwards. got to give him credit for that.

    I still think its about the same neither needs the other but they will meet again and from a Degale perspective its imperative that he wins next time they do meet.

    He's not a step forward. Piotr's got a pretty padded record with a whole bunch of journey men on it. around 30% KO ratio against that sort of opposition...

    He's as cherry picked as DeGale's previous opponents, other than having a shiny trinket on the line.

    you can be critical of degale but you cant accuse him of cherry picking. he has faced good opposition and the poll is decent for a comback from a loss and holds a title that moves him forward.

    Rob, really? His opposition has been pretty normal for a prospect. He's also faced the exact same sort of fighter until he faced, and lost to, Groves. It's cherry-picked.

    The belt is meaningless here since Piotr hasn't done anything to justify having it. Didn't Magee hold it before?

    I have no issue with him fighting the Pole, but let's not pretend it's something it isn't.

    DeGale needs Groves alot more. DeGale cant get through a single interview it seems without being asked about a rematch. Neither of them will be bonified world champions for a few years, they will just get an interim belt or maybe less. DeGale saying he will be a world champion next summer is a joke, much like his trainer.

    you let your personal feelings sway your judgment to much. looking through his record it is impressive for 12 fights when you compare it to others.

    ItÂ’s alright, nothing special. Until the step-up against Smith, it was unremarkable. My feelings have nothing to do with it. I thought DeGale was overrated before he proved himself to be a complete bellend.
