Just wondering who you guys see as the best trainer in the world and why?? Me personally its got to be Freddie Roach purely for what he's done in making manny the pound for pound best and the way he turned Khan around after his devastating defeat. :thumbsup
Don't forget Pacquiao was already a 2 weight world champ before he went to Roach Nacho is Numero Uno :good
He did make some very deceptive changes to Pacquiao's game though, introducing feinting being one, something you'll see just about no other trainers doing these days. Nacho and Roach are neck and neck for me, I believe Nacho to be a bit too one dimensional and set in his ways in terms of his teaching though, you heard it on 24/7 I take it, his fighters have to do this a certain way, they have to do that a certain way, it doesn't really vary per individual(Angulo being the exception rather than the rule).
agreed, wasn't trying to take anything away from Roach there, he's added a few more strings to his bow. Agree about Nacho, likes thing done his way, even down to his stance. be interesting to see what fighters they had and worked with from scratch. Nacho has had Both Marquez and Ricardo Lopez, erm who else :think

I'm certain that I've heard that somewhere before, that it had something to do with the fact that Izzy Vazquez was also signed to them.
yea Mares started with with Nacho, and that's probably why he left. Nacho been training fighters over 50 years, crazy. yea i get your drift with Pacquiao, i was kind of making the same point:thumbsup
I don't think there is a #1, There's a fair few who are doing fantastic work with certain fighters. Nacho and Freddie are obviously two of the elite trainers.
There isn't a best every trainer has their own speciality but IMO they are... Roach Nacho Robert Garcia Jimmy Tibbs Manny Steward
Don't forget Pac was a raggedy ass Flyweight beast who had some serious deficiencies. He was gonna' need help as he lost his big size advantages. And against Sasakul he was, let's be honest, pretty lucky. Roach is the man IMO :good It's no accident he learned his trade from one of the ATG Boxing trainer Eddie Futch.
