Pretty much especially if it says that on the Memo of the check. I have loaned dudes money on the memo area of the check I write "Loan to be paid back in full within ( whatever about of time we agree on) I have won a lawsuit like this, he took advance money he is ****ed.
**** knows what he actually agreed to when he took the advance, though. I wouldn't be surprised if he agreed to the fight and the purse and then received a contract with a stipulation that he sign a new shitty deal with Top Rank, etc. But he took advance money for the fight, so he has to sign whatever they give him, right? :nut

Gamboa surely ****ed up.. But like you said, people are taking Arum's word as truth when they've not heard anything from the other side.. Instead of waiting to hear what really happened people want to point fingers and lay blame, and Arum is great at placing the blame on others. Do you? I don't know what he agreed to when he took the money, but I do know that he stated that the fight contract he received (after he took the money) had a contract extension stipulation in it. :deal
