    By the sounds of it it depends now how much clout pat hickey has with the IOC. For the last few years we were calling ourselves a major force in world boxing, that might not work in out in joe's favour if the powers that be think that also. When exactly is this wildcard nomination given out? If nolan and mccarthy both qualify joe won't get it from what I'm reading. It's all a bit up in the air:huh

    no it has nothing to do with how many boxers we have qualified ...that story is confusing you a bit...the fact is joe is in a very strong position to claim the 81kg place if the tripartite invitation doesnt go to a developing nation in europe which it wont because none qualify for it

    im just goin what people who seem to be in the know have been sayin
    hopefully it works out for him....joys of bein ranked highly,if it happens he'll be lucky in a weird way

    paddy power wouldn't give me renewed odds on him

    If he gets in he's a fair lucky lad! That bet you had is hanging by a thread :lol: if he wins gold at the olympics it'll be the hardest won bet you'll ever have had!

    I'd say it's a pity for most neutrals who are heading to the event. He would definitely have made it more exciting. My money is on O'Kane now
