the prize in prize fighting is not a surprise gift you get at the end of a fight, its money you feed your family with. If Stevenson can make as much or more money fighting other fighters it makes sense to wait it out to make a unification bout that makes some serious coin.

 

He's not talking about his own money here, he's complaining about Kovalev's money lol, why does he care so much how much Kovalev makes?
