The difference between Kevin Rooney and Leonard Ellerbe is that Rooney was actually training Mike Tyson. Ellerbe doesn't train Floyd and its been well documented that the CEO of Mayweather Promotions is noting more than a title because Mayweather promotions hasn't had a promoters licensee. From the outside looking in I always got the feeling that Ellerbe was a close friend of Floyd's who really got paid to just kind of be a groupie and handle little arbitrary things. I'm almost positive if Floyd can fight without having Rodger Mayweather in his corner I'm sure he can manage two or three more fights without Ellerbe.
Ellerbe is nothing more than a comfortable security blanket for Floyd. If he is fine tossing out the security blanket, then toss it out.
