Maybe he was zapping his power make weight in the lower divisions. Cottos previous trainers were not training him correctly to get the best out of him.

I agree mostly, but thats not always true. Rios used to weight drain himself like crazy for lightweight, a lot more than Geale, and he still had an iron chin when he walked into the fight. And Micky Garcia was throwing up after a weigh in not too long ago, but still looked great in the actual fight.

Exactly. The huge disparity in skill and speed is what saw Geale stopped in the 4th, the guy was getting lit up from the opening bell, getting outboxed from the outside by a much smaller guy and coming off worse in every exchange. It's a tainted win for me though unfortunately, Geale looked like a corpse at the weigh in and just didn't look right on fight night, more sluggish than normal and very, very flat. Cotto would have beaten him anyway, but you have to wonder how much the weight affected his performance. Something needs to be done about these ridiculous catchweights.
