Will be used as another ducking excuse for the future IMO.

We already have 17 weight classes, corruption, pussified fighters, purse disagreements, etc.

    Just another obstacle.

As far as the comment on 16oz of water. 16oz of water is 1lb and anyone who drinks a lb of water will only gain a lb on the scale. However what is true is that some fighters will have a harder time cutting that 1lb depending on how dehydrated they already are.

Porter's fault for agreeing. No sympathy from me. Don't agree to the terms if you're going to complain about them.

I think you're missing my point. Yes, one off rehydration clause fights are dangerous. I have never argued against that. But a guy like Porter would not be able to stay at WW for any extended period of time if there were universal rehydration clauses. He would move up to a weight class where he would not need to cut as much weight.

Quillin and Lee have both weighed 180 on fight night before. They would be SMWs. Fighters still cut weight when there were same day weigh ins and it was more dangerous because their bodies had less time to recover from the dehydration. Go back and watch some 70s and early 80s fights and tell me that same day weigh ins took care of the size difference problem.

Porter's walking weight is close to 175

Yeah....fights gonna be cancelled or Porter will be giving his purse to Broner.
    Or....dying in the ring

Porter's an idiot for agreeing to this. I understand a catchweight but not being able to re-hydrate to his comfortable weight? That's pathetic.

Doubtful, Porter used to fight at LMW and is a massive weight drainer at WW. Cutting to 144 and capping out at 154 on fight night will be a totally new experience.

OP - All IBF fights state that fighters can only rehydrate up to 10lbs. So Porter has been doing so for his last 3 fights, this isn't going to make any difference to him.

Don't see if having an impact on the fight and on Shawn's performance.
