Drained his opponent beyond all reason (Gaele) Yea, there are reasons he is being mocked. I still have him as one of my fav fighters but I sure as hell am not going to defend his actions, he has gone straight ***** since he dealt with 3 cheaters in a row (may-pac-margarita)
And I explained why those things aren't so bad/ don't deserve so much hatred. Injured opponents - Not his fault they're injured. If they're injured, they shouldn't fight. They're the ones who probably told everyone they're fit to fight. If Cotto is fair game because he has a belt then so were they. Scammed GGG - That's a legal issue. It makes sense for him to check whether he has to pay up since he was stripped of the title anyway. If he has to pay, he will pay. Avoided mando - To give the people the fight they want and make a load of money. Most would do the same. It's the organization s job to enforce mandos, they should be blamed if anyone. Drained Geale - Two grown men agreed upon a fight weight. If Geale shouldn't have been fighting at that weight then that's his fault, he shouldn't have agreed to it. People drain themselves to have a size advantage, can't complain if it works against them. Catch weights are a part of boxing. Many fighters have fought at catch weights and most others would be willing to. I'm not saying people have to like him or be his fan. I'm just saying the things he has done which people vilify him for are understandable/not so bad/not deserving of criticism etc. I'm also pointing out that other boxers do the same things (fight at catch weights, try to get any advantage they can, try to maximize their earnings etc) and don't get criticized for it.

The courts will decide if he has to pay. Simple as that. Catchweights are quite different to PED use. Catchweights are about trying to make a fight more fair by minimizing size advantage. I'm sure GGG would be willing to fight at a catchweight for someone like Mayweather or Chavez Jr. Lol
