The voice of reason. Corbett was faster than Tunney and there's not doubt Tunney was one of the best movers in the history of the division. Tunney a bit more refined in technique. I'm not saying Tubbs did not have good hand speed. He clearly did. However, hand speed is just one type of speed. I still think overall, Corbett had quicker feet / hands / head movement / bending movent...the entire package of speed. The very fast fighters can get away with a low guard. Ali did it. So did Tunney and Corbett. Fast feet, lateral mobility, good reflexes and good head movement make one hard to hit. In Corbett's case, he had a way of blocking punches or checking punches before they reached him.
I define faster as hands, feet, reflexes etc.. Maybe Tubbs had faster hands, but he was not " faster " overall. I'd probably place Tubbs in a top 10-15 all time fastest hands.
