    Really?
And Ali wasn't a racist? Do a little research and learn about his many racist and anti-Semitic statements, and while you're at it, check out your hero's involvement in the racist cult, the so called Nation of Islam or Black Muslims.

You referred to two men discussing a matter and called them girls as if that is derogatory.

I dont like playing race BS but obviously both guys were racist. So now that it is out of the way. Ali may or may not have been influenced by Tunneys style. He claims to have picked up stuff from Jack Johnson but I dont c it. His style is similar to Genes.
Prime Ali beats Gene on points but its not easy its a fairly close fight with Ali taking a UD

Yes, Ali was a racist. I didn't say he wasn't . Apparently you're either not reading my posts or you're reading them and making stuff up. Whatever.

I have two daughters, both of whom I'm very proud of and would probably kick your butt and Gene Tunney's as well. :aaaaa:

you are talking about a 21 year old, who beat a full seasoned no2 vet with a struggle. What do you expect of him, the MOON on a STICK??

he wasnt, he bludgeoned Cooper into submission within three active minutes of being knocked down. Thats freaking remarkable!

stopped the deadliest man on the planet isnt good enough for you either. YOU DO want the moon on a stick!

no, not just brian london. He unified undisputed against the champions and began to defend. And fought brian london. Fighting Brian London DID NOT INVOLVE unifying the title or becoming undisputed. Idiot.

I never said it did. I just mentioned timid Brian to emphasize how pathetic his opposition was at that time. Post exile Ali faced much tougher opposition with varied results.

The point is that he was given a questionable decision against an 188 lb fighter. So much for Tunney being too small for Ali.

he wasnt, he bludgeoned Cooper into submission within three active minutes of being knocked down. Thats freaking remarkable!

After three minutes. Hmm... but let's not go there. He did bludgeoned Henry after being given an illegal stimulant, but then again the rules didn't apply to your idol.

stopped the deadliest man on the planet isnt good enough for you either. YOU DO want the moon on a stick!

Did he really? Those two "fights" reek.

no, not just brian london. He unified undisputed against the champions and began to defend. And fought brian london. Fighting Brian London DID NOT INVOLVE unifying the title or becoming undisputed. Idiot.

You can favour Ali over anybody at the end of the day, but there are certain fighters who would have posed a stylistic risk for him, and Gene Tunney is one of them.

Tunney would research his opponent very carefully, and he would find something to work with.

in the long run yes he did. But post exile was a MUCH longer period, so thats skew whiff.

I can easily mention ALvin Lewis, Rudi Lubbers, Richard Dunne.

Tunney was an exceptionally conditioned brainy fighter. I don't see him beating Ali but it would be a very interesting technical bout. Ali wins because of his incredible speed over the distance. It would be a classic fight with Tunneys classic boxing skills pitted against Ali's natural physical abilities.
