So people are celebrating Ngannou lost because the UFC promoted him to much?

The only division in the UFC worse then Heavyweight is the womens featherweight division lol. I would have preferred seeing him wait to get that title shot but because there is no other relevant challenges other then Werdum the always injured Velasquez .

So called glass cannon Overeem being ranked number 2 even after being KOd should tell you why they were trying to hype Ngannou.

 

You are on some of that Lomachenko ball gobbler type **** right now. I've been pointing out how bad Ngannou's take down defense is, while also stating that Miocic just needs to relax and this will be an easy fight for him, etc. How you pick out that I don't like Miocic while viewing all of my previous comments is beyond me. He exposed Ngannou, plain and simple. That doesn't mean I can't point out that pre USADA Miocic didn't have a gas tank this bad. I'm not singling him out either. Plenty of fighters cardio went to trash once the USADA testing was implemented.

 

Lets just say that some people are using that as a cover for their hate.

 

You have to consider he never had to control a 265 monster that was determined to win.To throw shade on his victory without substantiating your claims seems unfair.

 

So they shouldn't try and promote people in his division to help get views that bring in more money for him? He is a hell of a fighter but he can't promote himself well enough and doesn't seem to attract viewers unfortunately.

He is probably going to need a challenger that help bring in views that isn't there at the moment outside Werdum and Velasquez

 

I don't agree that he showed a bad gas tank. He kept a steady pace throughout the fight. Constant wrestling and scrambling for position burns a lot of energy.

That fight was mostly a stand up war, grappling taxes the body in a different way.

 

I'm writing this in hindsight. I picked Ngannou by ko.

Some people don't respect the struggle. Ngannou held every physical advantage. Sure, Stipe looks faster when both are exhausted. I bet Stipe can't catch anyone relevant with the wide shot Ngannou connected on Overeem. Miocic was outgunned everywhere physically, but was technically superior in all aspects.

This fight went down exactly the way it should have. The UFC was founded upon technique. Ngannou was on his way to breaking that mould. Ngannou had ko'd superior strikers, and submitted a superior grappler. This was no way to enforce any sort of technical knowledge. Dude was conquering the MMA world in his own terms. Then last night happened. Stipe won using technique to defeat a physically superior opponent.

Now the ball is in Ngannou's court. It's up to him to improve technically or press on in his current state.

 

Cormier picked up a nice win against a taller longer fighter and looked good doing it especially his striking . V O didn't use his longer reach very well and stood right in front of DC instead of angles and going up and down .

On the main card Stipe survived the first round and then went on to dominate in the last 4 rounds . F N needs to work on his cardio and his ground game which means a new trainer in order to get better . Still F N landed some very good single shots and if he had of landed one more punch when Stipe was stunned I think we would be seeing a new champion but he didn't and the well rounded durable Stipe has his hand raised yet again .
