Dorticos fought until he got blown out through the ropes. Rigo quit half way through without even feeling a power punch. This is why i thought it was hard to give credit for beating such a disgraceful quitter.

I knew coming in that Dorticos was the lesser skilled of the two, but it was frustrating watching Dorticos fall into the same pattern. Jab jab jab, right hand. The only punch that Dorticos threw that landed somewhat consistently throughout the fight was his jab. I was calling for the uppercut. I only saw him attempt a couple. It seemed like Gassiev blocked 98% of Dorticos' right hands. Dorticos was turning the right hand over, and trying to jam it in there, but he was doing nothing to get Gassiev to move his hands down. Everything was fairly telegraphed, a repeating pattern that Gassiev had no problem syncing his defense with. Even when he went to the body Gassiev was picking quite a bit off with his arms. Good chin, good power, good height, good reach, poor boxing IQ, and no counter punching ability what so ever. It would have messed the fight up, but Dorticos should have gotten on his toes and jabbed from the outside. He had some effectiveness at times when he jabbed.

Dorticos just said he wants a rematch no matter what happens in the Final, he definitely deserves one.

That was performance of the year so far. And potential KO of the year. Damn good fight too but I did have Gassiev up big. Only had Dorticos winning 2 maybe 3 rounds at most. Was not thrilled with his game plan. Gassiev totally dictated everything.

Winner of Gassiev vs Usyk early contender for fighter of the year.

Cruisers who would ever believe this division would come so alive!

 

Did a punch even land when he went through the ropes? Looked like it grazed or missed, and he was just off balance with dead legs.

 

Can see Gassiev timing and sharpshooting Usyk and being more aggressive since he won't have to worry about his power.. Its a tough one to predict!

 

Was a shocking moment after seeing that chin taking so much hard shots without any signs of cracking.
