Wednesday morning from Nakhon Ratchasima, live on Thai Channel 7. WBC minimumweight title on the line, 9th defense of Moonsuree.

This is the next blip on the radar for anyone left feening like a crackhead in the wake of the overstimulated fight schedule this week. Notably, the reigning green belt holder at straw is making his push to climb up astride Floyd Mayweather Jr. as 50-0 champs, with nothing in his way but the Panamanian southpaw.

I don't think Estrada has the style to beat Menaythin.

We might actually be likelier to see an upset in the co-feature, believe it or not. You wouldn't think so just going by their records but Pradabsiri (aka Petchmanee Kokietgym) has a very padded 19-1 (11) and in his only real step up in class - and just third international outing, having fought twice in Laos - he lost to faded ex-titlist Chaozhong Xiong in China. Mirin is, meanwhile, an extremely game Indonesian road warrior and recently gave Tanawat Nakoon aka Satanmuanglek hell in a battle for the Asian Boxing Council straw title. My prediction: Mirin deserves the nod by fan consensus but gets robbed.

    Satanmuanglek, now that's a badass nickname.

Hopefully Moonsuree KO's Estrada, if he doesn't, there's a possibility of a robbery, Panamanians seem to get very favorable scoring, like the Dominicans, and there may be a few people with a vested interest in Wanheng not reaching 50-0.

Wouldn't surprise me, in China (plus Zhong only really has a brush with being - just barely - world class for a grand total of like five minutes, and that was a while ago) - but that still doesn't speak to him being on a really high tier himself. I think Mirin is a live dog.

    That checks out.

He's very nearly a dictionary-definition midget, and has some gangly forearms.

I have no problem believing that math squares away (L arm + chest width + R arm >> legs + waist/abdomen/chest + neck/head) - or are you just saying the proportions are crazy, not that you disagree with the listed measurements?

Nope, they wouldn't, I don't think you understand how that works.

The wingspan is measured from one fingertip all the way to its counterpart on the other side in a Vitruvian stretch (not the knuckles of a closed fist as many erroneously believe). This includes the width of the chest and the balls of the shoulders, which you may not be taking into account. So if you are short and have relatively long arms (but without necessarily requiring the apelike proportions you're describing, where you can grip your ankles without bending over) then you can easily have a wingspan exceeding your height.

This is something I think a lot of boxing fans are perpetually confused about. The assumption is often that wingspan = reach (on the left arm, measured from closed fist knuckle to armpit) + reach (on the right arm, measured from closed fist knuckle to armpit) but that isn't the correct equation. Wingspan is reach + length of the longest finger + shoulder to shoulder width (encompassing the chest area) at its widest point. So quite significantly longer than simply "reach" x2.
