Joshua / Wilder will not happen anytime soon 'cos AJ is on PEDs, and he'd have to sign up to Wilder's more vigorous testing programme (that previously caught out Povetkin and Ortiz). Miller has talked about this, Whyte has talked about this (before he joined Matchroom!). NOT making this fight (and going for Povetkin instead) makes zero financial sense and zero boxing sense, but AJ and Hearn will now have to try and spin it like Wilder is ducking them. The truth, however, is obvious. They're scared. Using PEDs is too risky, and they're scared a clean AJ simply won't have the power of a PED AJ. Hearn isn't really a promoter for AJ, as AJ is such a brand that he basically promotes himself. He'd still sell out Wembley fighting my pet hamster. Hearn is now in the odd position of basically being employed to stop AJ from getting criticism for not fighting Wilder. He's AJ's criticism condom. This is the moment when his PED use will begin to dictate his career. As has been previously documented, commented upon and links provided for. . . Joshua is almost certainly THE MOST TESTED ATHLETE on the planet at the moment! He is subject and signed to both UKADA & WADA the latter of which is the worlds leading Anti Doping Agency. He is tested all year round and was even tested 14 times in 1 week during the build up to the Takam fight, this was confirmed by WADA. Those tests were a mixture of scheduled and non scheduled meaning a UKADA or WADA Agent can knock on his door at 3am and he has to conform to the test, the tests are all encompassing and preeminently thorough. He could be on holiday in Puerto Benouse or sat in a restaurant with his family and they can descend upon him with no prior notice and he has to conform. Failure to conform is treated as avoidance and that carries a 4 year ban! Please do not throw VADA at the argument because they are notorious within the World of Sports for being shady.
Yes, the superior fighter, with the superior skills, superior belts, the superior resume and the superior bank account, and the promoter with the superior shows, superior reach, superior business and superior funds, must be scared because they wont let the guy still fighting back and forth from Alabama making chump change, and his promoter/s and manager/s who are responsible for him only making chump change, organise the fight, run the show and fight on their terms.
