Agree 100% but that was the narrative that was pushed on the cult.

All the money has been at welterweight for years but didn't stop him fighting bum after bum.

Agreed but that was when he was champion and had something to lose. His thought process is different now as he is near the end of his career and he just wants big fights.

Back in January he said quite clearly to Kugan Cassius that 2018 will be his last year in boxing so I’m not sure why anyone is shocked that he’s looking for the money fight with Khan again.

He absolutely categorically never had any intention of boxing Charlo or Hurd. Please be clear on that. Eddie probably would have thrown him in there because he threw him in with GGG and deep down doesn’t give a **** about the well-being of his fighters.

Charlo or Hurd would have been big fights stateside and in the UK so let’s not try to dress this up. He wants an “easy” cash out fight with Khan. Low risk, high paid.

There’s nothing wrong with that. After all he is a certified warrior for going in their with GGG. But be honest and say he doesn’t want anything to do with the 154 champs which are huge fights and huge paydays in their own right.

Hearn absolutely ruined Brook. I understand Brook wants to make cash and to be fair he doesn’t sell all the well. The stabbing incident didn’t help either. But Hearn had a dominate welter who legitimately beat a top 5 boxer in the weight class in US with a world title.

He should never have been offered the GGG fight as he had literally had no chance of winning. Couple that with him sticking on 14 pounds of muscle that he needed to shift again when he was already tight at 147. Then he got Spence who is one of the most talented fighters in any weight class - credit for not swerving. He took a pasting at the end and to be honest has little resale value outside an Amir Khan fight. The whole point of Brook is technical excellence and in all honesty he is the type of fighter that needed the unbeaten record to boot. He actually got the better of Spence for large parts of that fight which started turning in the second half. Personally I think Brook could have beaten Spence had he not fought GGG. The gremlins of the eye going in that fight, the invicibility lost and weight cut back down from 160 can’t be understated.

Imaging Brook having beaten Porter and Spence would have been able to write his own cheques against any welterweight - Manny, Thurman, Crawford and even Khan on a 50/50.

But they threw his career away to make a quick buck in an unwinnable fight. I have no interest in watching him now because he is just looking for another cash grab in one of Eddie Hearn’s infamous ‘grudge’ match PPVs. He’ll do anything from 146-160 to get that last pay day and isn’t a proper boxer anymore imo.

He’s better at 154 based on what? A defeat of Rabchenko?

Completely agree. The problem with Hearn’s open contract and fight negotiation chat on IFL and Twitter is that it just increases the fans expectations. When he’s talking non stop about GGG-Eubank the fans get excited, so when it went tits up, Hearn and Matchroom become a laughing stock and the fans get annoyed.

Like you said he should never have offered it to Brook. He was desperate and needed Brook to “save the show”. Yes it made Brook rich but it also destroyed his career as you point out.

This is why Hearn should just keep his mouth shut and do his negotiations in private. Haye was spot on with his apples and pears comment. He craves the limelight. Hearn is a great promoter but his desire to be famous is also his one big flaw.

GOod post. He was "reported" by key sources at start of spence training camp around 185+ he was really heavy. He was ill 3 times which cut his weight cutting and sparring. He made the weight but i know there was rumours he was struggling in Fuentventura camp. It was good match making by SPences team as they saw how big he was before start of camp. Brook is too brave, he should of not taken GGG fight and packed that weight AND spend time healing his eye and putting on weight. I too think a fit Brook would of beaten Spence.

It was based on Dave Caldwell (Tony bellews trainer) who trained Brook in his earlier career. who said (and still maintains) Brook was the best 154lb he seen/trained to date. Also Gallagher who trains Liam smith they say Brook is more suited to 154. Laim Smith sparred Brook for his GGG fight

    Feed him to pacquiao

Would love to see Pac come over here one time before the end.

Brooks eyes won't like Pac man's shots at all

This is pretty much the only fight at 147 I have much interest in for Brook. Even faded Pac coming over to the UK would be great

I can't believe everyone is blaming Hearn for the Brook v GGG fight. I'm a big fan of Brook and he was always going to lose that fight but at the end of the day it is Brooks decision which makes the fight happen. Hearns job is to give the option for fights but Brook has the final decision and he was happy to take the big money.
Anyway, does anyone know whether Brook will be ringside for Khans fight this weekend?
