I often like to do legendary heavyweight boxers h2h in my mind. I feel Tyson has a good chance against any boxer in history except against Foreman. I just cant see him winning this one. Its not just a bad matchup, Foreman is bigger, stronger and probably has a better chin.
Can't remember this one being done before...... Oh, hold on...... https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/prime-foreman-vs-prime-mike-tyson-who-wins.609008/ https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/why-prime-mike-tyson-beats-a-70s-george-foreman.593351/ https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/prime-mike-tyson-vs-70s-george-foreman.413749/ https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/prime-foreman-vs-prime-tyson.310060/
I just red some of those topics and damnnn... Tyson fans get triggered if you think Foreman kos Tyson.
Yeah this has been done a few times....so what...A new member should be able to post a thread of interest without being expected to search the archives and get fluent with the interface without getting hassled...seems easier to ignore a post that you feel has been discussed as nauseam, than to present links to old threads....just my 2 cents.
I have always (for years anyway) felt Foreman to be both greater (ranking) and better (H2H) than Tyson. I think it is a short fight, not to be confused with one sided. Hagler/Hearns or Zarate/Zamora spring to mind. I see Both guys landing some good blows and wouldn’t be shocked if both guys got dropped once before the end. I think Tyson would do slightly better (last a little longer than Frazier, but Foreman would stop Tyson in about 5. It would be electric while it lasted.
This is an original thread. Tyson by TKO, he tees off on Big George. What Foreman did do Frazier is largely irrelevant to how he'd fare with Tyson who was significantly faster, more powerful, more athletic and unpredictable than Frazier. Also would help if there was a referee who didn't allow GF to push constantly like he did against JF.
See, you already need a ref to help your boy! Baddest man on the planet my ass! You Tyson ***s are always worrying about yr boy being roughed up. What a *****.
This fight has always fascinated me. I've always naturally thought that a prime version of George would have knocked Mike out, but that Mike could have decisioned an older Foreman, despite the fact that the older version of Foreman was better. It sounds a bit crazy but that's how I've always seen it.
Is this about the young Foreman until he retired? Because thats what this thread is about. Lets pretend George never came back: Better ranking, and better H2H? Why?
