Good question. The IBF recently changed their purse bid rules, the titleholder now only gets 65%. Due to the relative profile of the fighters in this case, 65% is a lot less than Canelo would expect. In addition, Canelo is contractually tied to DAZN so he couldn't afford to lose the purse bid. So a purse bid isn't any use to Team Canelo, I'm guessing this is why ODLH didn't request a purse bid.
