114-113 Derevyanchenko (7-5 rounds). But I'm ok with anything from 115-112 GGG to 115-112 SD.

A couple of the final rounds were very close, just forgot to mark them.

I am a big Golovkin fan. That's just how my card turned out.

    THOUGHTS

    1. GGG is done at the top level (age 37 for a pressure fighter is ancient), at least HIS top level. Several years ago, he would have decimated Derev in short order. Everything is starting to go, as we could see in the Canelo fights (both of which I thought GGG won). That doesn't mean he can't keep fighting, but he's not close to where he used to be. It's sad, but fighters age.

    2. GGG spent several rounds early focused too much on hitting Derev's cut eye. That may have cost GGG some rounds he otherwise would have banked.

    3. This was a very tough fight to score, IMO. GGG landing much harder shots, Derev with more volume and coming forward quite a lot.

    4. Great fight. Derev has an excellent chin and will. He took some bombs from GGG.

    UPDATE #1

Eddie Hearn is saying GGG was sick before the fight

Am I remembering round 9 as 10? I thought 10 SD won it big. Snapped Golovkin's head back over and over.

Fair enough. If I watched it again, I could see myself scoring it 115-112 GGG.

This is one of those "what do you look for in scoring" fights.

I thought GGG controlled most rounds with his power. But Derev was coming in with a lot of volume and speed, and with agression.

Very tough to score. Great fight to watch, though. Props to both men.

    114-113 Golovkin

Not sure how you gave SD the last 2 rounds though.

I had SD up 6-5 going into 12th.
So very close fight, 114-113 either way is fine.

I have to watch Round 10 again. I thought it was close, but for some reason I felt GGG pulled it out. May have been because of the power differential. Let me look at my notes fast.

Yeah. I think GGG stopped SD in his tracks twice, and almost had him down at least once. So I gave it to GGG even though SD was swarming him for much of the round.

Again, very tough fight to score, IMO.

    114-113 GGG

GGG lost some speed and had problems pulling the trigger tonight.

Imo he lost completely his focus after the first round and was then surprised by Sergey and couldn't mentally get back, he was thinking I will get him sometime in the first six rounds, then he got hurt to the body bad and was tired.

Great fight with a close win by ggg against a quality operator.

For the Andrade and Charlotte fanboys. They are both at least one level under Jacobs, canelo, ggg and devrechenkop

It's just one of those fights. I think any honest observer who watched this fight like 10 times might have 10 different scores, with each guy winning 5 times.

This is a fight where I would like to have like 3 angles to watch for every round.

I felt GGG won 3 of last 4 four rounds giving him the 115-112 score. The "championship" rounds determined this fight as it did last week in Spence vs Porter.

Great stuff and very much agree with the highlighted.

GGG laser focused on the eye for a number of early rounds, and it cost him.

He did have trouble pulling the trigger.

When I said "GGG is not top level" any longer in the first post, I just mean that there is a gameplan for him now (one which many can't execute) and it's a gameplan that would not have worked against him when he was younger. But he's not that guy any longer.

Still, he can win fights. Against pretty much anyone. But there is more uncertainty and risk now. And guys who would have been crushed by him in the past can hang with him now, and possibly even beat him.

I scored the fight 114-113 for Derevyanchenko, but it wasn't a robbery. Some rounds were extremely close where Derevyachenko was more active and landed more shots but GGG landed the harder blows. I can see it in any rage from 115-112 for Derevyanchenko to 115-112 for GGG. But A-side ALWAYS gets judges decision in a close fight, so I don't understand why people are talking about robbery in this fight.

I 100% agree with this entire post.

No robbery here, just A-side getting the nod in a close fight.

Not a robbery, but an ultra close fight that the promoters guy got...Again a fantastic fight
