The Holyfield who defeated Foreman vs the Liston who beat Williams or Folley. Who goes down?

Holyfield's darting style confuses and frustrates the hell out of Liston. In the 9th round Holy hurts him with a tripled up hook and Liston holds until the end of the fight. Holy unanimous decision.

Liston was a great fighter, I just don't place him as high as Holy in the pantheon (and yeah I know how amazing he was in the fifties).

Liston by UD. But Holyfield makes him work for it.

I think Holyfield could do it if he stayed disciplined.

I wonder who would be stronger Williams or Holyfield? Since it took a few rounds for Liston to push him back, Holy had a bit of strength more so moving/pushing as opposed to power in his shots. Liston said he had doubts going in, but gained confidence in victory over Williams.

I can see that smirk on Holy's face telling Liston this aint gonna be easy. Holy had excellent lateral movement for defense as his muscular upper body didn't allow a style of ducking, bobbing or weaving. He IMO would use his feet-work & lateral movement to cause Liston to reset. Over & over.

Only in mid-rounds does Liston catch him which ruins Holy's discipline, aww shux...a fight done broke out! I think it is a marvelous back n forth scrap where Holy gets the nod on 2 scorecards, one a draw via MD.

Let me go into post fight mode. :singer:

Well, BCS8 won, I take nothing away from him. But my keyboard kept getting stuck on the (H) Key, so I had to retype giving BCS8 that extra second, but I'm not making excuses.:buenrollo:

And when my browser shut down, I had to reboot my pc, but I aint taking nothing away from BCS8, No excuses. :shakehead: But when I spilled my coffee, :eek:heck I couldn't hit enter right then...had to find the Clorox wipes, not the regular kind which took additional time.

    But like I said....no excuses...

Sonny Liston executes Evander and I don't think it'd take too long to do it, inside 5. This ain't a 42 year old Foreman who hurt Holyfield.

I think it’s conceivable that Holyfield fights a really smart fight and stays away and outpoints him.

I think an ATG brawl is more likely, one where Holyfield is outgunned but not stopped.

    Liston UD

There are 2 strikes against Holyfield here.

1 - In 1991 he was barely 210lbs with a tiny waist & that's not a good combo against a monster like Liston.
2 - At this stage of his career he was drawn into a bar room brawl too easily, which is a recipe for disaster here, the result would be a UD or late stoppage for Liston.

Holyfield has to be slightly favored here

To be fair, he had much faster hands than Liston, was more accurate with his punches and tossed better combinations.
