Unpopular opinion. Smith vs Ryder was not a clear Ryder win.

I feel like if you're to post a thread like this, you've got to put up a scorecard broken down round by round. ;)

People giving Ryder rounds on the basis that he was doing better than they expected.

Perhaps I will rewatch. I scored it clearly for Ryder personally

I had it pretty close for the first half. But Ryder clearly bossed the last few pounds. In round 11 Smith was nearly gone.
I get it that it wasn't a wide Ryder victory. But it most certainly wasn't a very wide Smith one despite the views of the expert (haha) judges.

I had 7 definite Ryder rounds (4,5,7,8,10,11,12) so for me it was anywhere between 115-113 to maybe 117-111 Ryder.

One thing I will say is that I actually had it 3-0 Smith after 3 and I haven’t seen anyone else with that score. The punch stats (no I don’t trust them either) had Smith landing more in all 3 rounds as well so I don’t think I’m being totally outlandish.

But anyway, those rounds were close and I could have had it even wider for Ryder.

I predicted Ryder would win and the method of how he would accomplish this, so I wasn't wowed that he was doing better than expected. The people who scored it for Ryder, scored it for him because he won the match. Not to mention that most of the people who scored it for him were logical fair posters who aren't prone to overreacting and handing in bad scorecards.

100 percent agree. I scored this fight a draw. What I watched was a close fight that could have gone either way. In my view, the wide scorecards for Smith prompted all the outrage.

I nearly bit my tongue off the other day, holding back from telling you what a terrible scorecard you turned in. Easily one of your worst.

@IntentionalButt we need your scorecard to add to mine, to help completely destroy this brewing idiotic narrative from taking hold.

Smith had a very good start. He clearly deserves rounds 1, 3, 5 and 6. He can also be given the 2nd. But Ryder has largely won the rounds 4,7,8, 10,11 and 12 and we can perfectly give him the 2 and 9.

The worst is that the judges give 8 to 9 rounds to Smith.

Ok, I watched it. I had it a draw. Ryder's punches were mostly blocked over the first 3 or 4 rounds. Callum did himself no favors by getting his ass kicked in the last two rounds.

It pretty much confirms that Canelo would eat Smith.

Bullying and pressure are not the main scoring criteria. Clean punches is what matters.
