Rocky Marciano vs Joe Frazier

I thought we were talking about the Moore knockdown

 

This might be a three-round fight, at most.

Compared to Marciano, Frazier had great handspeed. And, in a phonebooth war, where punching power, defense and chins are pretty comparable, hand speed matters.

Both guys did go down early against others. If Joe puts Rocky down first and early, like Walcott and Moore did, I think Joe finishes him in short order. Same with Marciano. If Rocky puts Joe down first, that might be it for Joe.

Could be a case of whoever hurts the other guy first wins.

Based on handspeed alone, I'd say Frazier hurts Rocky first.

Frazier wouldn't stop punching. Rocky didn't fight a lot of guys who did that against him and he never fought any heavyweight sluggers as good or as fast or as busy as Joe Frazier.

I'd lean toward Joe. But it's really a pick'em fight.

oh Frazier by tko or ud. He was bigger, 20 pounds heavier, faster, probably stronger too at least as strong for the type of body added the size difference, he was harder to hit clean, he had better body attack. Foreman could not keep Joe down so Marciano would not do it

 

Fifteen pounds heavier faster and more elusive I'd say. I lean towards Marciano because he had two handed power,but it's really a pick em fight imo.

 

185 vs 205. 20 pounds is fair. Sometimes rocky. Weighed a little over 185 (and under 185)but also Frazier weighed at 209 in great shape against Foster.

There weren't any positive articles and adjectives used to describe Walcott also?

Walcott and Charles were perceived as average champions in their own time.Walcott was seen as inconsistent an in and outer,Charles as colourless.
