Yep. Paulie Malignaggi good, I had the honor of seeing him in person. Bigger than life type of person, those great men stand out even as youth. They have a Grandiose aura about them, they easily stand out compared to the plain surplus. Paulie Malinaggi will probably go on to do greater things in life, hopefully we don't lose him to politics!
You mean when McGregor bragged about knocking Paulie down in sparring as he was preparing to fight Mayweather, then Paulie denying it was a legit KD, then the video came out of the sparring session showing him getting dropped? I had a decent amount of respect for Paulie back when he was a fighter. But after he retired and he started doing commentary for Showtime and some Euro events I started to realize how annoying this guy was especially as a commentator for live events. Then the whole Conor McGregor denial that he was knocked down. And then he started hating on Pacquiao and Canelo hard core in interviews. So I went from having a decent amount of respect for him as a fighter, and even as a personality to a guy who just started becoming a wildly annoying nuisance to boxing.
Cos Regis is stronger at the long and mid range then he is at that close range. Regis movement o the inside is good but he isn't good at putting himself into position to be rapid on the inside, he relies on his pure power to tame opponents. regis is also mostly a fighter who doesn't fire combinations, he is a sharpshooter who is a heavy hitter. By going into chest to chest range, Regis is not as effective because he doesn't focus on his counter, he tries to mostly not get tagged on the inside. It was a tactical choice cos it's Regis weak point. Risky as hell but in the end it was the correct tactic.
They need to rematch. The fight was a total wash. Neither guy did anything to seperate. The announcers were off their rocks like usual. Only reason josh got the nod was a hometown fight. If they both win their next fights they should run it back.
I am George Foreman's daughter and I demand you supply me with a source for this or I will be seeing you in court. You will be hearing from our lawyer if a source is not produced within the next 48 hours from this comment. Thank you.
I was just reading this thread: https://www.boxingforum24.com/threads/tommy-morrison-memorial-to-be-built.542798/page-8 And found that post in there. Just wanted to post it somewhere.
Man, I have to disagree with the OP. Paulie could be a little annoying at times but he’s light-years ahead of guys like Ward. Ward is an arrogant tool who talks about himself more than he talks about the actual fighters he is covering. Ward might be one of the worst commentators in the game. Pauline knows the sport and I enjoyed his honesty at times. Either way, I am not a fan of Ward as a commentator. He’s one of the worst which is saying a lot because there are so many bad ones. Someone has to be the worst I guess. Another reason I’ve started watching more fights with the sound turned off.
From what the reports state, I don't see what Paulie said that was wrong. Good on Paulie for standing his ground.
Just try and separate those. Paulie has like 7 different personalities. And for my money, he has been excellent on the mike. Of course he has had his own bad nights and taste is subjective, but overall he is exceptional as a commentator. Same with Tarver. Man, I can´t stand Tarver, but I enjoyed most broadcasts with him.
From my understanding, he got fired from SHO for refusing to apologize. Devin Haney made a racist statement and Malignaggi responded to it. Malignaggi got ****ed over while no one really gave 2 shits about what Haney said.
