I dunno. I want Paddy Donovan to be the goods. Hes from my hometown, but I just am not seeing it yet.
Looked damn good today. I think he's got a lot going for him. He's got the tools to become a very accomplished fighter at some point if he adds some new layers to his game which is already nicely fleshed out. Sean McComb on the other hand looked like crap, weight drained and quit from exhaustion it seems. I knew he'd never reach world level but kinda gutted he went out like that.
Joe Ward will be on the Golden Boy card in PR on March 18th,fighting the guy who he "lost" to in his first fight!
2 Limerick fighter make their debut on the Frank Warren card on the 26th of March. Edward Donovan(brother of Paddy), and Jason Harty are making their debuts at MW
This content is protected Good little interview with Frankie Gavin, never realised he was so close to fighting for Ireland at one stage.
How do we see Hogan doing ? Could there be an upset on the cards ? Not conviced by Tszyu an Hogan has shown good form at the highest level. His style is awkward and I reckon could be all wrong for Timmy.
I think Tszyu looked the real deal today. He will take some beating . Hopefully Hogan can give it one more attempt at a lower level
This looks that is under top rank? He looks that is in record padding phase. easy matchups etc. Maybe he is good, at least looks marketable guy. Was this good choice for him to sign with ol bob?
Okay so we're not doing great in the Olympics lads, in fact 4 out of the 7 fighters lost their first fights, which isn't great. Brendan Irvine being beaten was a bad one in particular, he was a real medallist hopeful. All that remains is three, beginning with Kellie Harrington who really should get at least a bronze but is favourite for gold. There's Aidan Walsh who seems guaranteed at least a bronze as his first fight went really well and his quarter final matchup is probably the easiest of the lot in his division. Now if Kurt Walker were to beat Duke Ragan, he's also guaranteed a medal and should really win gold as he beat the no. 1 seed and current world champ in Mirzazbek Mirzakhalilov last time out in a massive upset. Walker has the hardest run of the lot but he seems to have found a new level, I really hope he takes gold home, it'd be well earned. Cmon boys (and girl), do us proud!
Walsh did get bronze albeit not under ideal circumstances. Really think he was in with a real shot versus McCormack.
Whats happened to John Joe Nevin? He was supposedly signed to Billy Joe Saunders new promotional outfit and then nothing? Retired? Massive waste of talent if true
