I mean... he was up instantly, following the refs instructions, the ref told him to put his hands up, he heard the instructions and put his hands up to continue. Ref was looking at him closer then Ben was and was about to let the fight continue.

I'm not sure I buy that he didn't know where he was at.

Now... if he was just staring blankly at the ref, had to be told multiple times to come forward or raise his gloves... maybe I'd understand a bit more... but he's there, he bangs his gloves together, ref asks him to raise his gloves and he responds instantly.

I just can't not view this as a bad stoppage.

That's a pretty standard knock down for the sport.

If you support stopping the fight on that knock down, when fighters responding to the ref, when the 10 second alarm just went off, I mean, what genuine knock downs are you not in favor of being stopped. I find it to be a pretty standard knock down.

The 10 counts not just about flash knock downs... its about allowing fighters that are genuinely hurt a chance to continue. The refs looking at the guy, gives him instructions, they are followed immediately.

And Wood instantly goes striaght to the corner and complains / objects.

Im normally pretty soft when it comes to stoppages, but idk...

He panicked like a woman, evidently he has a strong emotional attachment to Wood. Much more so than he does with Fury. **** him, he can fend for himself.

Well the guy beaten up today was Wood just look at his face and he went down and was stopped. I know you think you know everything but you don’t and are wrong on this. I think Davidson a trainer I don’t rate that highly saved him from a worse defeat and saved him to fight another day in big fights against Warrington and rematch with Lara where they need to adjust tactics otherwise you get the same result.

and there is precedent that the fighter that is hurt gives it right back. Wounded animal is the most dangerous

lol watch the fight. Wood dominated until he got stopped. It happens. It's boxing. But saying Wood was beaten up is ridiculous.

He was still stumbling around so he wasn't totally recovered. I mean if he was hit again with the same shot, and Koed would Davison have been branded a poor cornerman? The answer is possibly but probably not. The ref had checked Wood, had done his job. The fight goes on.

And what was Davison screaming ''Stop the %£^%$ fight? or something?''

So who you guys favor in a rematch?

Seems tough because Wood established he can win the rounds, Lara established he can end the fight.

I'll have to go with Lara in a rematch, I think Woods brain might be about done. Hard for me to see him not get chinnier from here.

So... you're one of those guys who bases your scores off of how someone's face looks. Okay.

You do know that the ****ed up eyebrow was caused by a headbutt right?

what u talking about wood lit him up the whole fight with left hooks and straight right hands at will. His only mistake was playing with his food for too long. never a good idea letting a crude power puncher live

Wonder what he was thinking/saying when CEJ was given a second chance vs Smith? Not 'wave it off' for sure

The fact is Davison didnt have faith in his boxer to keep going against a pretty spent Lara. That's not great confidence. What did he see? I'd want a cornerman who understands my boxing and character better than me. They let Fury continue because they had faith he'd avoid the punch again. They didn't think the same of Wood and that's not good.

Early stoppage, but psycho lara was gonna get in on that ass as soon as the ref let them go back at it, and it wouldnt have ended pretty for wood.

Wood boxed well and may have been ahead on points but he was definitely losing the war. Lara was not planning a win on points but to knock him out. Which he know he would because he could get to him. If Wood had been a proper ring general then he would have known his defence had to be on point but it was not and Lara was able to prepare him to get stopped. Serge my friend as you know I am not sentimental about boxing. I call it as I see. Before the fight I was not sure but in round 1 which was close I saw something and in round 2 it was confirmed for me which is why after round 2 I wrote on this thread that Lara is now going to stop him because he can get to him and more importantly when he does he has a real effect. Lara is not the type you go into a shoot out with. You need to negate him, get to him and not allow him to get to you. When Wood was hitting Lara it was not having the same effect.
