The mad lad has gone and done it. ALL HAIL KING TURKEY

Doubt Jai will be in Fury's camp given he's now got a tough fight on such short notice.

As is always the case. Given he broke his jaw in half last time that punchers chance must feel less than slim for him.

Wonder what shape he is in as well with only 4 weeks to go.

Expect it will turn into a corner stoppage. He'll collect his payday and retire.

I ****ing called it. IBF stripped the man for being too active even when his mandatory was okay with him fighting someone else and in fact couldn't be ready for the date, and now they're making him fight for the vacant belt when the other guy said he'd be down to do it in the first place. I said it was sufficiently stupid enough a scenario to happen

Opetaia was pathetic in the last 3 rounds against Briedis.

Briedis probably now knows how to beat Opetaia by analyzing those 3 rounds.

I think Briedis will KO Opetaia in the rematch.

When you put it like that ... I'm surprised referees in this sport aren't required to wear red noses, spinning bow ties and size 23 shoes , Michael Buffer doesn't make his entrance playing the flute on a unicycle and at least one event per year doesn't get called off due to mauled lion tamer. All world championships should get contested in a massive stripy tent

I don't think either of them are remotely afraid of facing each other. I mean there is literally zero evidence to support that. Briedis has fought pretty much everyone he could and he fought Jai in his backyard where everything was stacked against him and Jai has been calling out and clearly wants to fight all the other champs at CW.

Besides, did people not actually watch their fight against each other? That was two certified iron-jawed warriors putting it all on the line and fighting through real adversity.

I'm glad it's been made now as opposed to down the line because Briedis deserves a rematch and time is of the essence for him and Jai didn't deserve to get stripped

I think Jai wants it more and will show more heart.

Briedis knows his time is over and that it will be his last payday.

I mean come on, he is 39yo and the last 1,5 years he has been posting his new vacuum cleaner and pov driving behind trucks

So, he broke Opetaiai's jaw on both sides early in the fight yet couldn't even sit him down, let alone knock him out after that.

And you think Opetaia was pathetic in the last 3 rounds?

If Briedis couldn't beat Opetaia then he almost certainly can't beat him now. He retains a puncher's chance but that's about all.
